Disney Is Celebrating Tiana’s Bayou Adventure With Scrumptious New Food!

On June 28, Walt Disney World Resort will open one of its most controversial attractions to date. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be taking the place of Splash Mountain, and Disney is still dealing with the anger of fans who love the original, iconic attraction.

The closure of Splash Mountain was first announced in 2020, with Disney only sharing that the ride would receive a Princess and the Frog (2009) retheme. In July 2022, the name Tiana’s Bayou Adventure was finally shared.

Despite the intense backlash, Disney continued with its plan, and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is currently undergoing test rides in the Magic Kingdom.

In celebration of the new attraction’s opening, Disney World guests will be able to enjoy some absolutely mouthwatering new dining options. And they won’t just be at the Magic Kingdom! Let’s take a look at what is coming down the bayou!

A whimsical theme park ride, Tiana's Bayou Adventure, features a waterway surrounded by lush, green trees and vegetation. A small waterfall flows from a rocky hill topped with a tree and a tower in the background. Log boats float on the water, as visitors enjoy delectable bayou-themed food under partly cloudy skies.

Tiana’s Foods

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will take place after the events of the 2009 movie and will focus on Tiana’s new venture — Tiana’s Foods. Tiana has purchased an old salt mine and turned it into a cooperative business adventure.

So, it makes perfect sense that Disney would sell some products from Tiana’s Foods!

Starting June 28, guests will be able to purchase Mama Odie’s Hot Sauce. They can also add a ton of flavor to their dishes with a line of Dooky Chase’s Seasonings, including Gumbo Base, Seafood Seasoning, Meat Seasoning, and Fried Chicken Seasoning.

On the left, a bottle of Donya Craven's Hot Sauce sits on a piece of driftwood with greenery and lights blurred in the background. On the right, four bottles of Donya Craven's spices are lined up in front of a light blue background, perfect for adding flair to any Tiana's Bayou Adventure food.

If you are looking to visit the Magic Kingdom on June 28, then make sure you get your theme park tickets and get there early! Reservations are no longer required for date-based tickets, but that doesn’t mean that the park will be empty.

It is definitely possible that the Magic Kingdom will reach capacity on June 28. Should that happen, new guests will not be let in, and park hopping to the park will be suspended.

Unfortunately, Annual Passholders hoping to visit the Magic Kingdom on that day will be unable to do so if they do not already have a reservation. Annual Passholders are still required to make theme park reservations, and June 28 is completely booked up.

What new treats are you going to try when Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens? Let us know in the comments!

  1. Honestly, as a Foodie who loves trying unfamiliar dishes in every park, it’s driving me crazy that nearly every new “exciting” food offering is a dessert kind of treat. Between the Sweets and Plant-based menu items, WDW is becoming less interesting for annual guests like me. For a Diebetic, it’s also a no-go!
