The inaugural episode of the recently launched We Call It Imagineering series has made its much-anticipated debut, and fans are more than thrilled. This exciting premiere episode offers viewers an exclusive behind-the-scenes look into the meticulous process of creating and bringing to life the enchanting animatronic figures set to grace the immersive attraction, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
Scheduled to welcome guests at both Disney World and Disneyland later this year, these cutting-edge animatronics are poised to elevate the visitor experience to unprecedented levels of magic and wonder.

‘Princess and the Frog’ Goes Animatronic
When Disney announced the closing of Splash Mountain at both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort, one of the things fans were most upset about was the loss of so many incredible animatronic characters. The ride, which was closed due to racist themes in the story’s source material film, Song of the South (1946), featured dozens of animatronics in the attraction.

While we don’t yet know the number of animatronics coming to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, we do know that the quality so far seems amazing.

A New Chapter for Magic Kingdom Park
With the attraction at Magic Kingdom Park already undergoing ride testing, it seems that everything is on track for a summer 2024 grand opening. While this Disney Park retheme has been controversial from the start, it seems that these quality animatronics may be a key piece in winning the Splash Mountain fans over.
There are so many amazing characters fans can see down in New Orleans, including Princess Tiana, Charlotte, Mama Odie, Louis, and many new original characters Disney has designed just for this attraction.
Regardless of how you feel about this Splash Mountain retheme, it is easy to admit that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure animatronics are already looking incredibly promising.
