For decades, Jurassic Park fans have dreamed of experiencing the chaos of Isla Nublar first-hand. While the franchise has seen numerous video game adaptations over the years, few have truly captured the suspense and wonder of the 1993 classic.
“Jurassic Park: Survival” looks to change that by placing players in the aftermath of the film, offering an intense, story-driven adventure where survival is the ultimate goal.
Revealed during The Game Awards 2023, “Survival” introduces a brand-new protagonist, Dr. Maya Joshi, an InGen scientist left behind when the island was evacuated. As she fights to escape, players will encounter dinosaurs exhibiting unique and adaptive behaviors, making every encounter feel unpredictable and dangerous.

However, following months of silence from developer and publisher Saber Interactive, concerns began to spread about the game’s status. Some feared it had been quietly canceled, a common fate for ambitious projects in the gaming industry.
However, recent updates have now put those fears to rest. Universal executive producer John Melchior took to social media to confirm that work on the game is continuing, revealing that another motion capture session had just wrapped (this news comes via Jurassic news and content YouTube channel Jurassic Outpost)
“I’m beyond excited to share that we are hard at work on ‘Jurassic Park: Survival,’ just wrapping another performance capture session with more developments to come later this year… Taking the time to deliver the best for our fans, we’ve truly ‘spared no expense!’”
One of the most intriguing aspects of “Jurassic Park: Survival” is its approach to gameplay. Unlike previous Jurassic Park games, which often leaned heavily on action or strategy elements, this title appears to focus on immersive survival mechanics.
Players won’t just be blasting their way through dinosaurs but will need to use stealth, resource management, and problem-solving to navigate the island’s many dangers.
If done right, “Jurassic Park: Survival” could be the definitive video game experience for fans of the Jurassic franchise, capturing both the awe and terror that made the original 1993 film a masterpiece.
