We all admittedly get excited about new Disney rides and attractions, and for good reason. Often, a new Disney ride means that we get a chance to live out a magical adventure with some of our favorite Disney characters.
Most recently, Walt Disney World Resort welcomed home a few new attractions. Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT have proven to be big hits with guests, while Tron Lightcycle Run at Magic Kingdom has brought a new level of thrill and adventure to the park that calls Cinderella Castle home.
Of course, both Disneyland and Disney World’s Hollywood Studios have welcomed extremely popular attractions after Disney’s acquisition of Star Wars, bringing adventure from a galaxy far, far away to guests with Rise of the Resistance and Smuggler’s Run.

A new Disney ride means growth, and in a time when Disney Parks seem to be booming in technological advancement, both at foreign and domestic parks, fans are easily excitable about news regarding adored franchises and characters making their way to the parks.
Although Disney World and Disneyland have seen an expansion in terms of entertainment and rides at places like Disney’s California Adventure, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, and EPCOT, we often forget that there are European and Asian-based Disney Parks that deserve love, too.
With the inclusion of Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland, Tokyo Disneyland, and finally, Shangai Disney Resort, park fans have been drooling at the new additions to these theme parks and what they could mean for expansion in the United States.
Although we all love the traditional Pirates of the Caribbean ride you’ll find at Disneyland and Walt Disney World, some guests are in awe of Shanghai Disney Resort’s ride version, which features highly believable animatronics of Jack Sparrow and Davy Jones.
Guests who have traveled to Disney’s international parks insist that popular franchises like Star Wars, Haunted Mansion, and Toy Story are a don’t-miss opportunity when visiting aboard.
Although you’ll find four separate parks outside of the United States, one that has garnered much attention from international travelers since the last D23 expo is Shanghai Disney Resort.
Shanghai Disney Resort is a place where magic and excitement collide! Opening in 2016, the park, much like Magic Kingdom or Disneyland Resort, features several lands surrounding its hallmark centerpiece, The Enchanted Storybook Castle.
Surrounding the castle, fans can travel down Mickey Avenue, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, Adventure Isle, Treasure Cove, and the Gardens of Imagination. The youngest of Disney Parks, Shanghai Disney Resort is beautiful, stunning really.
Guests to the park have plenty of adventure to look forward to with attractions like Roaring Rapids, Soaring Over the Horizon, Slinky Dog Spin, and plenty of other Marvel, Pixar, and classic Disney attractions.
However, Shanghai’s newest land, centered around the 2016 animated feature Zootopia, has fans gushing over the possibility of retheming taking place in the future at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Shared by Scott Gustin on X, formerly Twitter, we’ve got our first look at Zootopia Land’s flagship attraction.
Much like Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, this new ride features a trackless system that will whisk guests away on an adventure with Officer Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde.

Of course, our readers, who most likely haven’t visited Shanghai Disney Resort, could perceive this video as a look at what’s to come at Walt Disney World since Disney executives announced that the popular Dinoland USA section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom would be getting a facelift to the theme of Zootopia.
If what they’ve done in Shanghai is any indication, this new land will surely add to the quickly evolving landscape of Disney, which currently heavily focuses much of its latest technologically advanced ride systems on acquired IPs like Star Wars.
The amazing, cutting-edge ride technology enhances the realism and immersion of the Zootopia Ride, and it’ll be nice to see this type of system brought back to the states in a new attraction.
The ride vehicles are fitted with state-of-the-art motion simulators, bringing every twist, turn, and leap to life. Assuming this ride is added to Walt Disney World, along your thrilling journey, you’ll encounter many of the beloved characters from the film. Look out for Officer Clawhauser, the lovable cheetah with a passion for donuts, and Flash, the sloth whose snail-like speed is both humorous and endearing. Each character interaction adds another layer of excitement and immersion to the experience, making it a truly unforgettable ride for fans of all ages.
The implications of bringing more technology to Walt Disney World, which has seen a boost in new attraction types since the opening of Rise of the Resistance, is promising for the American-based park’s future.
Although all love what Walt Disney World has to offer and will likely rarely grow tired of the World Showcase, the new additions to EPCOT, like World Celebration, Space Mountain, or even shopping at Disney Springs, a new Disney ride of this caliber is highly needed at Animal Kingdom.
As Disney continues to listen to guests, bringing acclaimed park features like Hatbox Ghost, new scenes for Star Tours, and Tiana’s Bayou Aventure to their largest resort, fans can get excited about this new Disney ride, in hopes that it makes its way during the upcoming retheme.
