Over the past few months, the United States has seen a sharp decline in the number of COVID cases. This decline in cases, decrease in hospitalizations, and increase in vaccination numbers means that many states and businesses have been able to ease their strict COVID protocols. One of those places has been the Walt Disney World Resort. Vaccinated Guests visiting the Resort are no longer required to wear face masks in most locations — including all outdoor spots.
We now have another big mask policy update to share with you. Effective immediately, vaccinated Guests who are riding the Walt Disney World Skyliner will no longer be required to wear face coverings! Unvaccinated Guests will still have to keep their face coverings on. That means that the only times vaccinated Guests must have a face mask on is when they are riding Walt Disney World busses or the monorail.

The Walt Disney World Skyliner is Disney’s newest mode of transportation and takes Guests to and from certain spots — Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Art of Animation, Disney’s Riviera Resort, EPCOT, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This grand, state-of-the-art gondola system conveniently connects Disney’s Hollywood Studios and International Gateway at Epcot to the following Resort hotels: Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Riviera Resort.
Guests will be able to enjoy easy access to Disney’s BoardWalk entertainment district and a fun way to travel between International Gateway at Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Plus, the Disney Skyliner provides a relaxing trip to dining locations across Disney Resort hotels—including Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s Beach Club Resort and Disney’s BoardWalk Inn.
Some of the gondolas are adorned with iconic Disney Characters, figures from Disney attractions and film favorites, which makes getting around even more magical as Guests enjoy breathtaking vistas over and between each of these enchanting locations!
The Skyliner is currently open to all Guests visiting the Walt Disney World Resort.
