Over the past few months, much of the world has seen a steady decline in the number of COVID cases and hospitalizations. Due to the decline, a number of countries have loosened their pandemic restrictions. One of those countries is France and, in turn, Disneyland Paris. Disneyland Paris has been struggling to remain open during the pandemic and has been forced to close several times. However, the Resort has been open since June 2021 and has been able to continue to loosen its restrictions.

For months, Disneyland Paris has required all visitors to show a Health Pass to enter the Parks. The Pass confirmed that the Guest had either a negative COVID result or was fully vaccinated. Due to those rules, Disneyland Paris was the first Disney Park to be able to bring back full character interactions. Guests were once again able to hug the characters they loved so much.

Health Passes are no longer required, and now Disneyland Paris is taking another big step for the Parks. DLP Report shared on Twitter that a ton of character interactions are set to make their return. These interactions can be maskless and Guests are not required to maintain a 6-foot distance.

⚠️ Face Character Meet and Greets are returning to normal on April 1:
– Return to normal for all face character meets including Disney Princesses, Pixar, Star Wars and Marvel.
– The Princess Pavilion will reopen as normal.
+ Meet Mickey will operate as normal.

As if that news is not exciting enough, Disneyland Paris is also bringing back character dining. Some Parks have brought back modified character dining. At this time, we are unsure if the character dining experience will be modified, or if it will be like it was pre-COVID. Right now, there is no character dining available in Disneyland Paris at all, so this is very exciting!

⚠️ Character Dining is returning to Disneyland Paris from March 31, 2022:
– At Auberge de Cendrillon for lunch and dinner,
– At Plaza Gardens for breakfast and dinner.

At this time, character meet and greets at both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort are still being done from a socially safe distance. Disney has not said when pre-COVID meet and greets, as well as pre-COVID character dining experiences, will return to the U.S. Parks. However, Disney CFO Christine McCarthy has said they will return “soon”. Some popular restaurants — like 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian — have yet to even open up at all.
