Marvel Officially Reveals Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk Replacement
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (2022) entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe with plenty of fanfare but left many disappointed. The series, starring Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters, faced overwhelmingly negative reviews and was canceled after just one season.
Maslany attributed the scrapping to budget mismanagement, claiming the first season “blew” its entire budget. For many fans, She-Hulk became a cautionary tale — or as some put it, “the kiss of death” for the MCU — at least on the Disney+ side of the franchise.
There Are No Plans for She-Hulk’s MCU Return
Looking ahead, Marvel has a slate of cosmic and earthbound projects, including the highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday (2026). The superhero ensemble will star Tony Stark/Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, along with many other returning favorites like Chris Hemsworth, Paul Rudd, Sebastian Stan, Tom Hiddleston, Florence Pugh, and Pedro Pascal, all reprising their roles as their MCU characters.
But Jennifer Walters is seemingly out of the picture. Despite her high-profile debut, the character never really captured fan enthusiasm, and Maslany’s recent boycotting of Disney+ after late night TV show host Jimmy Kimmel was taken off the air following his comments surrounding the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, are unlikely to put her in the company’s good books.
She-Hulk Will Return in a New Form, With a New Actor
But now, She-Hulk is set to return without Maslany — this time in the gaming world. “Marvel Cosmic Invasion”, the upcoming superhero beat ’em up game, recently dropped a new trailer featuring She-Hulk. In the game, the character is being voiced by Elysia Rotaru, marking a complete recasting for the superhero outside of the MCU’s live-action timeline. Watch the new trailer below:

“Cosmic Invasion” Features an Epic Superhero Lineup
Similarly to Doomsday and Marvel Zombies, which recently premiered on Disney+, the upcoming game features an expansive cast of heroes and antiheroes, uniting Avengers, X-Men, and other cosmic characters in a battle against a galaxy-threatening invasion.
Alongside Rotaru, the voice cast includes Brian Bloom as Steve Rogers/Captain America and Silver Surfer, Steve Blum as Venom and Beta Ray Bill, Trevor Devall as Rocket Raccoon, Cal Dodd as Logan/Wolverine, Josh Keaton as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Matt Mercer as Nova and Annihilus, Aileen Mythen as Phyla-Vell, and Alison Sealy-Smith as Ororo Munroe/Storm.
Marvel appears to be giving the character a new start in the gaming universe, offering players a chance to form their own opinions about She-Hulk in a medium where she can finally shine.
The game is shaping up to be one of the most star-studded superhero games to date, blending fan-favorite characters with new storylines, and now, with She-Hulk’s inclusion, it’s clear Marvel is not ready to completely retire the controversial green heroine just yet.
When Is It Out?
“A cosmic battle awaits! After Annihilus has launched an unprecedented attack across the galaxy, all life hangs in the balance,” the official description for the game reads.
“Nova, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Phyla-Vell, Captain America, and many more heroes, both earth-born and cosmic, will join forces in a star-spanning brawling adventure against the deadly Annihilation Wave. From New York City to the depths of the Negative Zone, the future of the universe will be fought across the stars in MARVEL Cosmic Invasion!”
“Marvel Cosmic Invasion” will be released on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PS4, PS5, Xbox, and PC (Steam) this year. The demo is now available for PC (Steam).
Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to be released in US theaters on May 1, 2026.
