Marvel Studios Formally Confirms Late-2026 Release Date For Next Big Disney+ Project
Marvel’s Disney+ era is about to revisit one of the most emotional storylines the MCU has ever told. After years of questions surrounding Wanda Maximoff, Vision, and the mysterious White Vision left behind at the end of WandaVision (2021), Marvel has officially revealed when fans can expect the next chapter to arrive.
The studio recently confirmed that VisionQuest will debut on Disney+ in fall 2026, giving Marvel fans a much clearer picture of where the streaming side of the MCU is heading next.
The announcement also arrives during a time when Marvel appears to be regaining momentum across both theaters and television.

Disney+ Helped Expand the MCU
Back when Marvel first started releasing Disney+ shows, many fans wondered whether those series would actually matter to the larger MCU. Marvel answered that question almost immediately.
WandaVision became the first major Disney+ MCU series and quickly turned into one of Marvel’s most talked-about projects. The show mixed classic sitcom influences with grief, mystery, and major superhero storytelling in a way fans had not seen before.
Marvel continued building from there with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021), which explored Sam Wilson’s future as Captain America. Then Loki (2021) expanded the Multiverse storyline and introduced ideas that became central to Marvel’s newer phases.
Projects like Hawkeye (2021) and Wonder Man kept pushing Disney+ further into the center of the MCU, rather than treating streaming as a side project.
Still, WandaVision arguably remains the most emotionally important series Marvel has produced for Disney+.

White Vision Finally Returns
By the end of WandaVision, Wanda had accepted that the Vision she created within the Westview Hex could not remain part of reality. Her artificial world disappeared, along with the children she created during her grief.
But Marvel intentionally left another important thread unresolved.
White Vision regained Vision’s memories during the finale before suddenly leaving Westview altogether. While he now remembers his life and experiences, the series never explores whether he truly regained the emotional side of who Vision used to be.
That emotional fallout helped shape Wanda’s actions later in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022), where her grief pushed her down a darker path. Even after the ending of that film, Marvel still avoided fully confirming whether Wanda actually died.
Now, VisionQuest appears ready to continue that larger storyline.
The series reportedly follows White Vision as he tries to reconnect restored memories with genuine emotion and humanity. In many ways, the show appears positioned as another major chapter in WandaVision and Agatha All Along (2024).

Marvel Reveals the Premiere Date
Marvel officially confirmed that VisionQuest will premiere on October 14, 2026, exclusively on Disney+.
The eight-episode series brings Paul Bettany back as Vision and James Spader back as Ultron for the first time since Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015). Marvel will also revisit several AI characters tied to Tony Stark’s legacy throughout the series.
The story also introduces an older version of Tommy Maximoff, also known as Speed, further expanding Marvel’s family storyline for Wanda and Vision.
Behind the scenes, Terry Matalas will serve as showrunner after earning praise for his work on Star Trek: Picard (2020). Marvel also assembled a creative team with strong science-fiction and character-focused experience.
Even without trailers or major footage yet, the project already feels like one of Marvel’s biggest Disney+ releases coming in 2026.

Marvel Still Has Big Plans for Vision
Marvel rarely introduces projects that exist entirely on their own, and VisionQuest already feels tied to the larger future of the MCU.
Paul Bettany’s return strongly suggests Vision will remain important moving forward, especially as Marvel continues setting up future crossover films. At the same time, Wanda Maximoff’s story still feels unfinished.
Marvel never fully confirmed Wanda’s death in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and Elizabeth Olsen has openly discussed the possibility of returning someday.
Whether Wanda appears in VisionQuest or later MCU projects remains unclear. But Marvel clearly understands that audiences still care deeply about these characters.
After years of waiting to learn what happened to White Vision, fans finally have a premiere date — and another major MCU mystery ready to unfold.
