Magic Kingdom’s Former Cool Ship Replacement Takes Another Major Step Away From Tradition
Walt Disney World appears to be preparing another small but useful upgrade for guests visiting Magic Kingdom.
Astrofizz, the futuristic snack kiosk located in Tomorrowland, is showing signs that mobile ordering will soon become available through the My Disney Experience app. While Disney has not officially announced a launch date, the feature appears to be moving closer to becoming a reality.

Guests browsing the app can already see a “Begin Order” button associated with Astrofizz. The problem is that no pickup times are currently available, suggesting Disney has added the infrastructure but hasn’t officially activated the service yet.
That may not sound like a major development, but frequent Walt Disney World visitors know that mobile ordering has become one of the most valuable tools available inside the parks.
Over the past several years, Disney has expanded mobile ordering across dozens of dining locations throughout Walt Disney World. The feature allows guests to place food and beverage orders directly from their phones, select a pickup window, and skip much of the traditional ordering process.
For families trying to maximize every minute of a vacation, those time savings can add up quickly.
Astrofizz may be a relatively small location, but it occupies a prime spot inside Tomorrowland. Guests walking between Space Mountain, TRON Lightcycle / Run, and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin regularly pass by the kiosk throughout the day.

The stand opened after Disney retired the longtime Cool Ship location, giving Tomorrowland a refreshed snack destination with a retro-futuristic design.
Today, Astrofizz serves a variety of quick treats, including frozen slushies, popcorn, cotton candy, fountain beverages, bottled drinks, and ice cream novelties. Seasonal offerings occasionally appear as well, giving guests another reason to stop by.
Those snack lines can become surprisingly long during busy periods, especially during the hottest part of the day. Central Florida’s heat often sends guests searching for frozen beverages and cold treats, creating backups at some of the park’s most popular refreshment locations.
Mobile ordering could help ease some of that congestion.
Instead of waiting in line to place an order, guests would be able to purchase their snacks while walking through the park. By the time they reach Astrofizz, their order could already be ready for pickup.
It’s a simple concept, but one that has become increasingly important as Disney leans further into app-based vacation planning.

The company continues to add digital features across its parks, from Lightning Lane purchases and virtual queues to resort management tools and dining reservations. Mobile ordering remains one of the most successful additions because it directly addresses one of the biggest frustrations guests face: waiting.
Although Disney has yet to reveal exactly when Astrofizz will officially join the mobile ordering lineup, the signs suggest the rollout may not be far away.
For guests who spend their days racing from attraction to attraction, that’s welcome news. Even saving a few minutes on snacks can mean fitting in one more ride before the next parade, show, or Lightning Lane return window.
