A group of EPCOT visitors got more than they bargained for on Living with the Land last week when part of the attraction‘s set broke loose and splashed down inches from their boat.

Instagram user @eartoearmagic was recording during the ride when it happened. A piece of what appears to be an artificial tree branch from the attraction’s left shoreline broke free and dropped into the water beside the passing boat during the opening natural scenes, before the route transitions into the greenhouse and agricultural areas. The Walt Disney World Resort guest shared the video last week:
We were just enjoying a peaceful ride through Living With The Land in EPCOT … when the rainforest decided to branch out. 🌿😳
Right before our eyes, a tree limb took the leaf of faith and splashed down into the water! Guess it decided it was time to turn over a new leaf.
Looks like that branch was stumped with just hanging around and wanted to log in some swim time instead! 🌳💦

The footage clearly shows the debris hitting the water in close proximity to the boat and its passengers. Fortunately, no one appears to have been struck, and the attraction didn’t stop operating after the incident. Walt Disney World Resort made no public statement about what happened or indicated what may have caused the branch to detach.

Living with the Land continues to run on its normal schedule at EPCOT.
