‘Live Action Stitch’ Just Got More Horrifying; Fans Petition for Disney to Cancel the Film

Stitch fans are not happy…

One of Disney’s most beloved characters is Stitch, the mischievous blue alien from the movie Lilo & Stitch. Since the original film was released in June of 2002, Stitch has taken over the hearts of Disney fans. Now, Disney is bringing Lilo & Stitch back to life with a live action remake. The project has been in the works for a while but just recently announced its cast and team.

‘Lilo & Stitch’ Gets a Live-Action Version

The live action Lilo & Stitch  will feature a mix of live-action and CGI effects as it tells the story of a young Hawaiian girl named Lilo Pelekai who adopts a strange and cuddly creature named Stitch, not knowing that he is an alien experiment. The duo goes on a series of adventures together, and eventually, Stitch becomes a member of their family.

The film will star Maia Kealoha as Lilo Pelekai, Sydney Agudong as Nani, Billy Magnussen as Pleakley, Zach Galifianakis as Jumba, and Courtney B Vance as Cobra Bubbles. Chris Sanders will return to the cast as the voice of Stitch, and Dean Fleischer Camo will direct the film.

However, the film’s initially positive response turned instantly negative when images of the live-action Stitch went viral.

What Has Disney Done?!

Numerous images have surfaced on social media claiming to show leaked images of the live-action Stitch. Fans were immediately horrified by the images. Now, months after the images were published, they still continue to circulate on the internet.

A petition has even been made to try and shit down the Disney movie. The petition reads;

“To everyone who grew up watching the animated Lilo and Stitch we know the character of Stitch has been one who has captivated our hearts. This new image of Stitch portrays him to be a monster, or have some others have pointed out, a gremlin. By keeping this image of Stitch for the live-action movie, would be disowning his caring and loving image that he has been known for.”

However, a lot of the anger from fans is entirely misguided, as the viral images are actually artificial intelligence-created images. As of now, no images of Disney’s live action movie have been released. Fans will have to wait and see if the animation is actually as bad as people think it will be.
