For nearly two decades, Marvel Studios has brought some of the world’s most iconic superheroes to life, including Iron Man, Captain America, the Incredible Hulk, Black Widow, Scarlett Witch, and so many more.

Like Star Wars, there are so many major actors that would love to be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And those who have starred in a Marvel movie find themselves thrust into the international spotlight, with bigger name recognition than they have ever had before.

However, there is at least one actress who has absolutely no desire to ever be a part of the MCU. That actress would be Twilight star, Kristen Stewart.

And it’s not that she’s just not interested. In a recent interview, Stewart was brutally honest, saying that working for Marvel “sounds like a f****** nightmare.”

Stewart recently did an interview with the Not Skinny but Not Fat podcast, and was asked about the possibility of becoming one of Marvel’s many beloved superheroes.

“I will likely never do a Marvel movie … it sounds like a f****** nightmare, actually.”

“You would have to put so much money and so much trust into one person … and it doesn’t happen,” Stewart said. “And so therefore what ends up happening is this algorithmic, weird experience where you can’t feel personal at all about it. So likely not. But maybe the world changes, that’s what I’m saying. How could I tell you no when maybe one day … if Greta Gerwig asked me to do a Marvel movie, then I would do it.”

However, Stewart did point out that she is not opposed to big-budget blockbuster films. She said that she loves to be in those kinds of movies because she loves having millions of people head to the theaters to watch one of her movies.

That is why she took on the role of Bella Swan in the Twilight film franchise. She also was cast as Snow White in the Universal Pictures movie, Snow White and the Huntsman (2012), alongside Charlize Theron.

Even though Stewart has not really been a part of the Disney family, she actually got her acting start on a Disney Channel Original Movie. That movie was The Thirteenth Year (1999), and it starred Chez Starbuck as a young boy who, on his thirteenth birthday, learns that his mother is a mermaid. Stewart does not have a credited role in the film, but she portrayed Girl in Fountain Line.

Stewart’s latest movie — Love Lies Bleeding (2024)– is currently streaming in theaters nationwide.
