A police officer was arrested at Disney World on Tuesday on a kidnapping warrant.
While Walt Disney World Resort is “The Most Magical Place on Earth,” the behavior of its guests doesn’t always match its design. In recent years, guests have sparked drama for everything from attempting to smuggle drugs into the parks and assaulting cast members to getting drunk and trying to scale the Mexico Pavilion. (Yes, really.)
The most recent incident to hit the park saw a police officer arrested on a kidnapping warrant on June 3.
Police Officer Arrested at Walt Disney World Resort
A Prichard, Alabama, police officer has been arrested in connection with an alleged kidnapping in Harrison County, Mississippi. David Cunningham, 22, was taken into custody at a Disney World Resort in Orange County, Florida, after authorities learned of his outstanding warrant. He was located and arrested on Tuesday.
The incident traces back to May 24, when Harrison County deputies responded to a shots-fired call at a residence on Audubon Lakes Boulevard. A dog had been struck by recreational gunfire during a party. The individual responsible reportedly left the scene in the backseat of a Prichard Police vehicle.
Deputies intercepted the patrol unit nearby. Inside, they found Cunningham driving, with Kristen Allen in the passenger seat, and a 21-year-old man handcuffed in the backseat. Cunningham was in possession of his Prichard Police badge and weapon. The 21-year-old was subsequently released.
Investigators determined that Cunningham had responded to a call from the party, arrived in his marked patrol vehicle, handcuffed the man who was arguing with the homeowner, and left the scene with him. This led to a kidnapping warrant being issued for Cunningham.
Kristen Allen faces a warrant for hindering prosecution. She allegedly assisted Cunningham by providing multiple scenarios to authorities to justify the man’s detention. Allen turned herself in on June 2, according to Harrison County deputies.
Cunningham had previously served as a Mobile Police officer before resigning in February while under administrative investigation. He was later hired by the Prichard Police Department. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Previous Arrests at Disney Parks
Dramatic though it may seem, this isn’t the first arrest to hit Disney World this year.
Earlier in 2025, it was reported that a guest faces two third-degree felony charges, child abuse and battery by strangulation, after being arrested at Disney World over allegations that he choked his girlfriend’s daughter in their hotel room.
Another male guest was apparently arrested for causing significant damage to Disney World property while breaking a sales kiosk under the influence of alcohol.
Meanwhile, a Florida man was busted for trying to sneak cocaine into Magic Kingdom Park. After being pulled aside for additional screening at the security checkpoint, a cast member noticed the bulk of his wallet and asked him to open it, which in turn revealed a supply of the drug.
