‘Jurassic World Rebirth’ Ties Into Upcoming Prequel With Surprising Connections

Jurassic fans, hold onto your butts! With Jurassic World Rebirth set to stomp into theaters on July 2, the franchise promises to take us on another thrilling adventure. Directed by Gareth Edwards (2014’s Godzilla, Rogue One), written by David Koepp (Jurassic Park, The Lost World), and executive-produced by none other than Steven Spielberg, this new installment is being billed as the start of “a new Jurassic era.”

If that doesn’t give you chills, just wait until you hear about the plot.

According to the official synopsis, the film takes place five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion. Dinosaurs are now living in isolated equatorial environments that mimic their ancient habitats. But these majestic creatures may hold the key to a groundbreaking drug with miraculous, life-saving benefits. Enter Scarlett Johansson (Avengers: Endgame), who stars as covert ops expert Zora Bennett. Her mission? Lead a team to retrieve genetic material from three colossal dinosaurs.

Sounds simple enough, right? Of course not. Things take a wild turn when Zora and her team stumble upon a shipwrecked family on a mysterious island harboring a “sinister, shocking discovery that’s been hidden from the world for decades.” Intrigued? So are we.

But Rebirth isn’t the only thing Jurassic fans have to look forward to. Gamers, get ready to relive the chaos of Isla Nublar with “Jurassic Park: Survival”, an upcoming first-person action-adventure game set just 24 hours after the events of the original 1993 film. Players will step into the shoes of Dr. Maya Joshi, an InGen scientist stranded on the island as dinosaurs run rampant.

The game promises a return to the roots of the franchise, offering a fresh perspective on the classic story while diving deeper into the aftermath of John Hammond’s ill-fated park.

Although “Jurassic Park: Survival” and Jurassic World Rebirth are unlikely to be directly connected, they both aim to breathe new life into the franchise. While the game takes us back to Isla Nublar’s heyday, the film looks to the future, pushing the timeline to 2027. Together, these entries promise to expand the Jurassic universe in exciting new directions.
