Excitement is mounting for Jurassic World Rebirth (2025), the seventh installment in the Jurassic franchise. Directed by Gareth Edwards (Godzilla 2014, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) and written by David Koepp, screenwriter of the original two Jurassic Park films, the upcoming sequel is packed with high stakes and a star-studded cast.

Scarlett Johansson leads the film as covert operative Zora Bennett, who’s tasked with a secret mission to secure “genetical material from the world’s three most massive dinosaurs” on a mysterious island harboring “a sinister, shocking discovery that’s been hidden from the world for decades,” according to the official synopsis.

Production has been extensive, with filming across Thailand, Malta, and the UK earlier this year, followed by reshoots currently underway in New York. Although production recently wrapped, a teaser has already made its debut in China, hinting that fans might not have to wait much longer to see more of Jurassic World Rebirth.

The teaser was reportedly shown at the 26th China Film Promotion Conference held in Hengdian, Jinhua, from October 27 to 31. According to Jurassic Park Outpost, Universal Pictures presented the teaser as part of its slate of upcoming releases.

The event, as described by Jinhua Today, showcased “the latest in film and television works, technologies, and market trends” and serves as “a platform for domestic and international film production and distribution companies to connect and collaborate.” Major studios including Sony Pictures, Disney, and Warner Bros. also attended, highlighting the global appeal of the Jurassic franchise as it gears up for another cinematic release.

However, while many were hoping for new footage, the teaser shown in China was actually a “sizzle reel” with clips from the previous six films in the franchise. Fans hoping to catch a glimpse can view a breakdown by Jurassic Park Outpost in their YouTube video at the 3:07 mark, which outlines the highlights of Universal’s presentation.

As for when fans worldwide can expect the first official teaser, it’s still up in the air. With Universal’s Wicked, a Broadway adaptation set to release in November, there’s speculation that a teaser for Jurassic World Rebirth could be paired with this upcoming film. This would align with Universal’s promotional strategy and offer a major platform for a first look at Rebirth.

For now, fans will have to hold tight. Jurassic World Rebirth is set to premiere globally on July 2, 2025, and with anticipation building, it’s expected to take the franchise to new heights. Stay tuned for updates, as the next chapter in the Jurassic saga draws nearer.
