Latest ‘Jurassic World’ Entry Recasts Several Characters
In Jurassic World: Chaos Theory Season 3, there’s no shortage of familiar faces — but not all of them sound the same as they did before.
The latest season of the Netflix series has continued a trend from its predecessor, Camp Cretaceous, with multiple returning characters brought to life by new voices. This isn’t unusual for animation, where budget and availability often result in different actors stepping in for their live-action counterparts.
Dr. Henry Wu, originally played by BD Wong in the films, was voiced by Greg Chun in Camp Cretaceous. Lewis Dodgson, first seen in Jurassic Park and later portrayed by Campbell Scott in Jurassic World Dominion, is voiced in animation by Adam Harrington — who also reprises the role in Chaos Theory Season 3.
But this season’s standout twist isn’t a recast — it’s a return. Dichen Lachman, who played Soyona Santos in Dominion, continues to voice her character in Chaos Theory following her Season 2 appearance, marking a rare instance of a live-action star reprising their role in the animated format.

There’s also the case of Brooklynn. Voiced by Jenna Ortega in all five seasons of Camp Cretaceous, Brooklynn was recast in Chaos Theory due to Ortega’s scheduling conflicts.
Showrunners Scott Kreamer and Aaron Hammersley revealed last year that Ortega’s busy schedule made it “impossible” for her to return. Kiersten Kelly now voices the character.
At the same time, Ryan Potter, who voiced Kenji Kon in Camp Cretaceous seasons one to five, stepped away, leaving Darren Barnet to fill the role from Chaos Theory Season 1.
Now, Season 3 goes even further, with the return of Barry Sembène. The character, who trained Velociraptors alongside Owen Grady in Jurassic World (2015), and later worked as a French Intelligence agent in Jurassic World Dominion (2022), now teams up with the Camp Cretaceous gang to track down Soyona. In animation, however, Omar Sy does not return to the role — instead, Evan Michael Lee takes over as Sembène’s voice.
As Chaos Theory edges closer to the events of the films — particularly Dominion — the series continues to balance familiar characters with new performances. Whether more live-action stars will follow Dichen Lachman’s lead remains to be seen. For now, Chaos Theory keeps its momentum with a blend of continuity and fresh takes.
