Guests heading into Jurassic Park at Universal Islands of Adventure will notice another closure has officially taken effect.
Universal has shut down the Jurassic Park restrooms as part of a major refurbishment project. More importantly for anyone visiting over the next several months, this isn’t expected to be a short closure.
The facilities are currently expected to remain unavailable until early 2027.
That adds another refurbishment project to a section of Islands of Adventure that has already been missing one of its signature attractions for most of the year.
Guests Will Need to Find Another Restroom
With the Jurassic Park restrooms now closed, guests will need to use other facilities around Islands of Adventure.
The closest option can be found near Pizza Predattoria.
Additional restrooms are available in Toon Lagoon, The Lost Continent and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade. However, those locations could require a considerably longer walk.
For the average visitor, the closure may amount to nothing more than a minor inconvenience. It could be more important for families with small children or anyone who needs quick restroom access.
The length of the refurbishment also makes this closure noteworthy.
Universal expects the project to continue into early 2027, keeping the facilities unavailable through the remainder of 2026.
Meanwhile, Jurassic Park is already dealing with a much larger attraction closure.
Jurassic Park River Adventure Has Been Closed Since January
Jurassic Park River Adventure has remained closed since January 5, 2026, as Universal carries out a major refurbishment.
The good news is that the end of that closure may finally be approaching.
Jurassic Park River Adventure is currently scheduled to reopen on November 20, 2026.
By that point, the water ride will have been closed for more than 10 months.
The attraction has been a fixture at Islands of Adventure since the park’s opening in 1999. Guests begin with what appears to be a relatively simple trip through Jurassic Park before the situation quickly changes.
Dinosaurs escape, riders enter increasingly dangerous territory and a Tyrannosaurus rex awaits near the end. Guests then plunge down the attraction’s signature drop before returning to safety.
Its absence has been particularly noticeable because Jurassic Park River Adventure remains one of the land’s biggest attractions.
Jurassic Park Will Look Different for a While
If the current schedule remains unchanged, the situation should improve considerably before the holidays.
Jurassic Park River Adventure’s November 20 reopening would bring the attraction back before Thanksgiving and the heart of Universal Orlando Resort’s holiday season.
However, guests shouldn’t expect every refurbishment project to disappear at once.
The Jurassic Park restrooms will remain closed after the ride returns, with their reopening currently planned for early 2027.
Until then, guests spending time in Jurassic Park should remember that the nearest alternative restroom facilities are near Pizza Predattoria.
It’s a relatively small change to a day at Islands of Adventure, but with a closure lasting several months, it’s one worth knowing about before heading into the park.
