In this day and age, the Walt Disney Company has come a long way. If anything, it’s less of a company and more of an empire.

After all, the Walt Disney Company owns nearly everything, from Lucasfilm and Star Wars to Marvel Studios, Pixar Animation, and traditional Walt Disney Studios. That is a lot of fandom to pay attention to, provide content for, and hear feedback from.

That’s not even counting the extensive world of Disney theme parks: Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland, Shanghai Disneyland Park, and Tokyo Disneyland. Each Disney Park Resort could even be separated into its own fandom as well.

In short, the Walt Disney Company oversees a ton of stuff, and we definitely don’t envy the guy in charge! There’s just simply no way to make everyone happy. So it comes as no surprise to hear that CEO Bob Iger is currently facing the ire of hundreds of disappointed fans after last weekend’s D23 Expo event.

Fans of the Disney Parks are disappointed, not necessarily by the changes, but by the lack of them. Both this year’s D23 Expo and last year’s D23 Expo event saw the announcements of Disney’s plans and nothing more.

For example, last year’s D23 Expo event announced that Animal Kingdom’s DinoLand, U.S.A., theme park area would be rethemed into an area inspired either by Zootopia (2016) or Moana (2016).

After an entire year with no changes, 2023’s D23 Expo made a similar announcement: Animal Kingdom’s DinoLand, U.S.A., will now be reimagined as an area inspired by Coco (2017,) Encanto (2021), and the Indiana Jones franchise.

In short, there have been many announcements simply discussing plans with no real action. Meanwhile, Universal Orlando Resort is in the process of building an entire theme park right next door. Needless to say, fans are disappointed:

Disney, we are tired of all these “what if” and “considering”announcements!

While it’s impossible to keep every fan happy, guests visiting the US Disney Parks are simply let down by the Walt Disney Company dragging its feet.

Of course, theme park expansions and new attractions cost a lot of money, and the Walt Disney Company isn’t exactly in a great spot, speaking financially. Not only is the Walt Disney Company caught in the midst of multiple legal battles with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, but the company’s stock is also historically low.

At this point in time, nobody knows when Disney’s plans and considerations will come to fruition. Unfortunately, we’ll just have to be patient.
