‘Hunger Games’ Star Mckenna Grace Rejects Hollywood Offers for Disney Princess Dream

Mckenna Grace has spent much of her career proving she can handle just about anything Hollywood throws her way. From terrifying horror movies to major franchise productions, the young actress has built a résumé that continues to grow.

However, there are certain opportunities she isn’t interested in accepting, regardless of what they might mean for her career.

Grace recently opened up about the types of roles she avoids and why she has established boundaries as she gets older.

Interestingly, her decision also connects to a dream she has held onto for years. And if Disney continues revisiting its animated classics, she might eventually get the opportunity she’s hoping for.

Mckenna Grace Explains Which Hollywood Roles She Won’t Accept

At a young age, Grace has already appeared in several major Hollywood productions, including Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021), Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (2024), and Scream 7 (2026).

Her career also continues expanding, with an upcoming appearance in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping (2026).

While some of those projects feature frightening scenes and mature themes, Grace doesn’t believe that accepting challenging roles means she must agree to everything.

The actress currently avoids projects that require nudity or heavily sexualized performances.

That doesn’t mean she’s uncomfortable portraying complicated characters or appearing in violent stories. In fact, her previous work suggests the opposite.

Instead, Grace wants to maintain control over the types of scenes she participates in while continuing to explore different opportunities.

As she moves into more adult roles, those boundaries could influence which projects she chooses.

But her reasoning goes beyond simply deciding what makes her comfortable on camera.

Disney Princess Dream Influences Her Career Decisions

During a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, Grace explained that she respects actors who feel comfortable performing revealing scenes, even though she doesn’t want to pursue those opportunities herself.

She also shared an unexpected career ambition.

“At this point, I definitely don’t do nudity or very hypersexual things. I respect anybody who can, but it’s terrifying to me. I don’t know if that’ll ever change. It’s not like I only do wholesome things — my character literally gets gutted by Ghostface in Scream — but my dream is to try and be a Disney princess someday.”

Her statement makes an important distinction.

Grace isn’t suggesting that actors must avoid mature material to succeed in Hollywood. She simply has personal limits and wants to pursue projects that align with her goals.

And becoming a Disney princess is apparently something she would love to accomplish.

Although she hasn’t revealed which princess she would most like to play, several familiar characters could make interesting possibilities.

Could Mckenna Grace Play Elsa or Anna?

Disney has repeatedly brought its animated stories into live-action filmmaking, giving audiences new versions of characters they already know.

For Grace, one potential opportunity could involve Frozen (2013).

If Disney eventually develops a live-action adaptation, Grace might be considered for the roles of Elsa or Anna.

Her blonde hair could make Elsa an interesting option, while her experience portraying energetic characters could also suit Anna.

Another possibility involves Aurora from Sleeping Beauty (1959).

A new adaptation focusing on Aurora’s original story could offer Grace another opportunity to pursue her princess ambitions.

However, none of these casting possibilities are confirmed.

Disney hasn’t announced Grace for any princess role, and there’s currently no indication that the studio is considering her for either franchise.

Disney Has More Fairy Tale Projects on the Horizon

Although Disney hasn’t confirmed a live-action Frozen remake, the animated franchise still has a major release approaching.

Frozen 3 (2027) is scheduled to arrive in theaters on November 24, 2027, continuing the adventures of Anna, Elsa, and their friends.

Meanwhile, an untitled project reportedly inspired by Sleeping Beauty has entered development, although Disney hasn’t confirmed a traditional remake.

Whether either franchise eventually creates an opportunity for Grace remains unknown.

For now, audiences can look forward to seeing her portray Maysilee Donner in The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping (2026), which arrives November 20.

Grace clearly has plenty happening outside Disney. Still, she hasn’t abandoned her princess dream, even as she establishes limits on the roles she’s willing to accept.

And while Hollywood offers no guarantees, her ambitions could eventually lead her toward a Disney fairy tale of her own.
