There is truly nothing like the anticipation and thrill of driving up to a Disney Resort on the day of your vacation. Whether it’s Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort, entering park property is typically a surreal moment that fully ignites the magic of a Disney trip.
However, with thousands of other families also seeking the same experience, lines can often be a struggle at these theme parks. While ride lines and general park crowds can be expected, some fans are also forced to deal with severe traffic when trying to enter the property in the first place.

A Not-So-Magical Park Entrance
When visiting the Disneyland Resort, it is a smart idea to be prepared for potential traffic congestion, especially during peak seasons and holidays. The influx of tourists and locals alike can lead to significant delays on the surrounding roads, such as Disneyland Drive and Harbor Boulevard.
It is advisable to plan your journey in advance and consider alternative routes to avoid getting stuck in traffic jams. Additionally, arriving early in the day or later in the evening can help lessen the impact of traffic delays and make for a more enjoyable visit to the magical world of Disney.
Unfortunately, even with careful planning, traffic can often be an unavoidable part of visiting a theme park like Disneyland Resort. For guests today, the traffic leading into the parking area caused significant delays, some even reporting to be over two hours long.

Massive Highway Pileup Outside Disneyland
One Disney theme park reporter shared their experience earlier today when they were trying to enter Disneyland Resort. According to @DisneyScoopGuy on X, the traffic was so bad that they were stuck in lines for two and a half hours.
After traffic making it take me 2.5 hours to get to Disneyland this morning, traffic to get into the parking garages is backed up onto the freeway. I can see the security area from where I’m stuck on the overpass and it’s full somehow. This is gonna be fun. pic.twitter.com/vmtnsuVqTx

From the posted picture, crowds of hundreds can be seen waiting in excessively long security lines. While the Disney theme parks are typically busy, these lines seem excessive for a mid-week day in May. According to some comments on the post, the crowds may be due to a Grad Night event.
While lines are certainly not what anyone wants to experience when they are on their Disney vacations, it is often an unavoidable part of visiting Disney. Hopefully, these guests were able to enjoy a long day in the parks once they passed the madness of security.
