In 1990, 20th Century Fox released what would become one of the most iconic Christmas films of all time, Home Alone. The film starred Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister, a young boy who is the black sheep of his family.

After an argument with his mother, Kevin is accidentally left home alone as his entire family heads to Paris for the holidays. While he enjoys the initial freedom, things take a turn when he learns robbers have targeted his home.

Two years later, Kevin McCallister was back, this time finding himself alone in New York City while the rest of his family was in Florida to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year. To audiences’ absolute delight, Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern also returned as Harry and Marv, the bumbling robbers from the first film.

There are four more Home Alone films, but none of them have stood the test of time and been as beloved as Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost In New York.

While we love many aspects of the movies, one of the biggest talking points has become the house that the McCallisters live in. It is a gorgeous home right outside of Chicago, and it is large enough to accommodate the entire McCallister family. However, we never learn what Kevin’s parents — Kate and Peter McCallister — do for work.

Now, that gorgeous Illinois home can be yours! That is, if you can afford the price tag.

According to the home’s Zillow listing, the gorgeous house is located in Winnetka, Illinois, just about 20 miles from Chicago. It was built in 1921 and boasts five bedrooms, six full bathrooms, and just over 9,000 square feet.

Now, this is not just any stunning house in a Chicago suburb. The Home Alone house features double ovens, two islands, and a sub-zero refrigerator — and that’s just the kitchen!

The extraordinary abode also features vaulted ceilings, walk-in closets, built-in bookcases, and a wood-burning stove. But the highlight might just be the indoor half-basketball court and in-home movie theater. That’s right, you can play basketball and then relax in your own private theater.

The area is made complete with a full wet bar. Make some drinks, pop some popcorn, and enjoy a quiet night in with your family and friends. Or maybe host the ultimate game night. The possibilities are truly endless!

And now, to answer the question you’re all asking. How much does this phenomenal house cost?

Well, it’s not cheap. The sellers are asking $5.25 million to own the house where Kevin McCallister once defeated the Wet Bandits.

The home has been listed on Zillow for almost 2 weeks, but more than 700,000 people have taken a look at the listing. More than 30,000 people have saved it. So, if you are interested, you better act fast!
