When Walt Disney World reopened after its pandemic closure, there were a number of things that were different. Annual Pass sales were suspended, Guests needed to make a reservation to visit, and a ton of hotels remained closed. Disney had also stopped the incredibly popular extra magic hours at the four theme parks. Extra magic hours had given all Disney hotel Guests the chance to be in select Parks for an hour before it opened or up to three hours after it closed to other Guests.
When Disney did finally bring back extra Park time, it was not even close to what had been. All Disney hotel Guests could get into select Parks half an hour early in the morning, but only Guests staying at Deluxe Resorts would be able to be in the Parks after closing — and the only participating Parks were EPCOT and Magic Kingdom. This angered a lot of Guests, but Disney does not seem to have any inclination to bring things back to the way they were.
However, on April 13, Hollywood Studios will keep its gates open later than usual for Deluxe Guests. According to Disney, this is for one night only, and no future dates have been planned for extra Park hours at this time. On April 13, Hollywood Studios will stay open from 9 p.m. until 11 p.m. and the following rides and attractions will be open:
- Alien Swirling Saucers
- Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy
- Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
- Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
- Muppet*Vision 3D
- Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
- Slinky Dog Dash
- Star Tours – The Adventures Continue
- Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
- Toy Story Mania!
- The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™
It is important to remember that a valid ticket and theme park reservation will be required to enter Hollywood Studios for the extra hours. Guests who do not have a Park Hopper ticket will need a reservation for Hollywood Studios. Guests who have a Park Hopper ticket or an annual pass will need to enter the Park where they made their original reservation before hopping over to Hollywood Studios in the evening.
It should also be noted that the list of operating attractions is subject to change. It is also possible that some attractions may experience technical difficulties and need to close during that time. Disney does not make any guarantees when it comes to which attractions will be up and running during this time.
Will you be going to Hollywood Studios during its extended evening hours?
