A Unique Kind of Cast Member Job

While many Disney cast members are tasked with jobs like performing, serving, selling, and directing, there are also lots of jobs behind the scenes. One of the most unique jobs happens in the waterways around Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort in the Rivers of America.

The river divers’ tasks are varied and often unexpected. At Disneyland Park, they not only check the infrastructure supporting the popular “World of Color” nighttime show but also retrieve lost items, sometimes unearthing the most surprising treasures.

From sunglasses and cell phones to unique souvenirs, the river can yield a fascinating assortment of finds that tell a story of the park’s bustling daily activity.

The divers are trained professionals who take safety seriously, diving deep into the depths of the river while ensuring the park’s standards are upheld. According to one cast member:

“Divers are in the every weekday, current cast member here. They inspect the world of color table and seach for trash etc.”

Appreciate, but Don’t Emmulate

While the divers are busy underwater, Disneyland’s guests are reminded that swimming in the river is strictly prohibited. This policy helps maintain the integrity of the park’s attractions and ensures the safety of all visitors.

The serene waters often contain potentially dangerous animals, making it essential that only professionals enter these areas. A dip in the rivers is a surefire way to get banned from the parks altogether.

Their work often goes unnoticed, but the divers contribute significantly to the overall experience at Disneyland. As the Disneyland Resort continues to welcome millions of visitors each year, the divers’ commitment to their unique role exemplifies the dedication of cast members who strive to keep the magic alive in every corner of the park.

Next time you enjoy a stroll by the river, remember that a team of dedicated divers is hard at work, ensuring the enchantment endures.
