Out of all four theme parks making up Walt Disney World, Magic Kingdom is easily the one with the most quintessential Disney experiences.
Attractions like the Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Space Mountain can all be found in the Disney Park. But recently, another ride joined the ranks, and it only took a staggering handful of years!
Magic Kingdom’s TRON Lightcycle Run was first announced at a D23 Expo in 2017, and Walt Disney Imagineering’s construction began as soon as possible in 2018, with the opening date scheduled for 2021 as a part of the Most Magical Celebration on Earth.
However, the COVID-19 pandemic stopped everyone and everything in its tracks, and Walt Disney Imagineering was no different.
As a result, the roller coaster was woefully behind schedule and would not open in Magic Kingdom until spring 2023. April 4th, 2023, to be precise.
After such a lengthy wait, many Guests wonder if this roller coaster ride is actually worth the wait. When one fan asked fellow fans of Walt Disney World on social media, the response was overwhelmingly negative:
Many Guests said they would never purchase an Individual Lightning Lane for TRON Lightcyle Run ever again but would gladly purchase one for other new attractions such as Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
Others said that while the roller coaster ride is fun, it’s definitely not “worth the hype.” Many Guests say that the roller coaster’s runtime is way too short, making it an unworthy addition after waiting for anover five years.
Have you ridden TRON Lightcycle Run? Was it worth the wait, in your opinion?
