Walt Disney World is known as the Most Magical Place on Earth, and so much of that magic comes from experiencing character interactions. Meeting your favorite Disney character can create a lifelong memory for Guests of any age, and there’s nobody sweeter than Mickey Mouse himself.
But Guests who were excited to meet Mickey at Magic Kingdom this morning found themselves disappointed when the Park opened.
Guests can meet Mickey Mouse in Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and EPCOT. Each Walt Disney World Resort has a unique, designated Mickey meet-and-greet spot, but Magic Kingdom’s may be the most exciting.
Upon entering the Disney Park, Guests are met with the sprawling 20th-century city, full of shops offering merchandise, souvenirs, and snacks. Not only that, but the beautiful Cinderella Castle stands in the distance, simply waiting for Guests to enter Adventureland, Frontierland, Liberty Square, Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland.
But before exploring Main Street, U.S.A., Guests can meet Mickey Mouse himself at the entrance of Magic Kingdom. Upon entering the Disney Park and immediately turning to the right, Guests will see the Town Square Theater, where meet-and-greets with Mickey and Minnie Mouse are periodically held.
However, Mickey Mouse was missing this morning.
On the Walt Disney World mobile app, the attraction “Meet Mickey at Town Square Theater” was listed as ‘Temporarily Closed’ at the time of Magic Kingdom’s opening.
Although this must have put a damper on many Guests’ mornings, there is good news: at the time of this article’s publication, “Meet Mickey at Town Square Theater” is up and running again, and Guests can meet the mouse that started it all!
