Whether visiting Walt Disney World Resort or Disneyland Resort, Space Mountain is one of the most classic attractions. However, there are some critical differences between Magic Kingdom’s version and Disneyland Park’s version.

Regardless of these little differences, Space Mountain is still a thrilling roller coaster that takes place in the dark, no matter which Disney Park you’re visiting.

As the name suggests, Space Mountain takes place in the grand cosmos of the galaxy! Guests are riding a rocket, which will send them careening into the deep darkness of space, twisting and turning along the way. It goes without saying, but we’ll say it anyways: this thrill ride is a fan-favorite among Guests of all ages.

Although the attraction takes place in the dark, you can get to know a roller coaster if you ride it often enough. That means hardcore fans will know what’s coming based on memory alone despite the lights being off. But for these Guests, nothing could have prepared them for what they were about to experience.

Not only was this experience surreal because a Cast Member had to push the ride vehicle, but the lights were on, giving Guests a crystal clear view of the building’s interior.

Despite the strange circumstances, it’s nice to see that these Guests still had fun on the ride!
