“*not a warning but more of a heads up for those traveling with littles! 🐍*
wednesday night around 9pm ish i was walking back from the pool at kidani village with my family excited to eat some dinner when i felt a sharp pinch on my foot.
my focus was on my school aged nieces staying close by and where i can see them but i turned around when i saw someone in our groups phone flashlight turned on and we saw a snake hurrying his way into the shrubs beside us.
it took a moment or two for it to click but taking a look at where i felt the sharp pinch previously it was confirmed the snake bit me!
because we didn’t get a good look at it (it was dark & everything happened so fast) we went to the front desk and explained what happened. the manager, staff, and paramedics that took a look at me were all so kind and showed genuine concern.
despite not feeling any pain after the initial bite i stuck around with them for about 45 mins to an hour get looked at and be sure no new symptoms showed up.
the manager shared that they regularly remove snakes from property but prior to that evening had no reports of anyone being bit before.
i am completely fine & grateful it happpened to me and not one of my nieces who i was walking with because the shock of it all and general fear probably would have been a lot worse for them. so just incase you or your littles are having a great time laughing and chatting with your family but not watching your step, keep an eye out for any slithering friends trying to get accross the sidewalk.
**pics because even my friends back home didn’t believe me & i still had a wonderful time**”
The presence of snakes in this Disney underscores the natural surroundings of Walt Disney World Resort. It is always a good idea to keep an eye out for wild animals and always keep a safe distance from them when possible.
