First Look: Disneyland Unveils 2 Viral NEW Christmas Popcorn Buckets
Popcorn bucket enthusiasts might want to leave some extra room on the shelf this Christmas.
The 2026 holiday season is bringing two new designs that already look built for collector demand. Disney popcorn buckets can draw long lines, disappear quickly, and land on resale sites soon after release. Add Mickey Mouse, Toy Story, and Christmas into that equation, and these latest designs have plenty working in their favor.
Fans have now gotten an early look at both buckets. Although the preview comes from Hong Kong Disneyland, there’s already a reason for Disneyland Resort fans in California to pay attention.
Two Christmas Buckets Are Getting Early Attention
A Hong Kong Disneyland fan recently offered a first look at two popcorn buckets headed to the resort for Christmas 2026.
The pair couldn’t look much different.
One takes the shape of a Christmas train starring Mickey Mouse, while the other transforms Toy Story characters into part of an elaborate gingerbread house.
The Mickey train uses white, teal green, and red throughout its holiday design. Mickey sits on top wearing a Santa hat with presents surrounding him. The compartment below Mickey opens to hold popcorn.
Pluto also joins the Christmas celebration. He appears on one side wearing antlers alongside a reindeer.
It’s an eye-catching design, but Disney may have packed even more surprises into the second bucket.
Toy Story Turns Christmas Into a Gingerbread Adventure
The Toy Story bucket looks more like a Christmas decoration than a traditional popcorn container.
Disney modeled it after a gingerbread house, complete with an icing-covered roof and colorful decorative details. Several familiar characters appear around the exterior.
Woody and Bo Peep share one side, while Bo Peep’s sheep get a holiday makeover as little snowmen. Another section features a Little Green Alien beside a cookie designed after Hamm.
Then there’s the chimney.
Another Little Green Alien sits inside, but this character doesn’t stay still. Fans can press the Alien to make it move, adding an interactive element to the collectible.
For now, Disney has not confirmed that the Toy Story gingerbread house will come to Disneyland Resort in California. American fans hoping to add it to their collections will have to wait for another announcement.
The good news is that California isn’t missing out on both designs.
Mickey’s Christmas Train Is Heading to California
Disneyland Resort has confirmed the Mickey Train Light-Up Popcorn Bucket for its 2026 holiday season.
That confirmation means the design won’t remain limited to Hong Kong Disneyland. Disney has also confirmed that the Mickey Train lights up, giving collectors another reason to use it as a Christmas display after the popcorn is gone.
And it isn’t the only holiday novelty headed to California.
Disneyland Resort will also introduce a Holiday Stitch Christmas Tree Sipper. Stitch already has a strong following among Disney fans, and the Christmas tree theme could make the new sipper another popular seasonal collectible.
Of course, guests don’t have to wait for the holidays to find plenty of popcorn buckets around Disneyland Resort.
Disneyland’s Current Lineup Is Already Packed
Disneyland Resort currently has several popcorn buckets available, including several Halloween-themed designs.

- The Headless Horseman Bucket
- Jack Skellington Gravestone Bucket, inspired by Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
- Vampire Mickey Mouse Bucket
- Haunted Mansion Hatbox Ghost Popcorn Bucket
- Bullseye Popcorn Bucket
- Lightning McQueen Bucket, celebrating the 20th anniversary of Cars (2006)
- Tauntaun Bucket
Disneyland also offers several specialty sippers, giving collectors even more options beyond popcorn containers.
The selection covers Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Halloween, and anniversary merchandise. Soon, Christmas will add another wave of collectibles to the mix.
The Holiday Hunt Could Get Competitive
Of the two newly previewed buckets, Disneyland Resort fans currently have only one confirmed for California: the Mickey Train.
Still, it checks plenty of boxes for collectors. Mickey and Pluto appear in the design, Christmas decorations cover the train, and the light-up feature gives it another purpose once guests bring it home.
Meanwhile, the elaborate Toy Story gingerbread house gives fans another bucket to watch in case Disney eventually announces a California release.
Disneyland guests already have plenty of popcorn buckets competing for their attention, but the holidays could make that list even longer.
Once the Mickey Train Light-Up Popcorn Bucket arrives, waiting to buy it could be a gamble. If collector interest matches its festive design, Mickey’s newest train may become one of the holiday items fans don’t want to leave behind.
