This is certainly not a sight you see every day! On a typical day, Disneyland Resort diligently works to keep the magic alive for guests visiting the theme parks. A big part of accomplishing this means keeping things neat and tidy for guests’ eyes.
Disney is known worldwide for their incredible janitorial staff, who scour every corner of the parks for trash or other unsightly materials. In addition, Disney’s dedicated security team looks high and low for any banned or prohibited materials.
However, even the best employees can occasionally have a slip-up. For one guest, their Disney experience was shaken upon their discovery of abandoned explosive containers within Disneyland Park.

Every night, guests get to experience the enchanting and mesmerizing fireworks at Disneyland Resort, where dreams come to life in a spectacular display of light and color.
The fireworks show at Disneyland is a journey that takes guests on a magical adventure, filling the night sky with bursts of brilliance and joy. As the darkness falls over the Disneyland Resort, the sky lights up with the most breathtaking fireworks that bring a sense of wonder and excitement to all who witness them.
The Disneyland fireworks display is a key highlight of any visit to the park, captivating audiences of all ages with its dazzling beauty and thrilling soundtrack. The beauty of the Sleeping Beauty Castle serves as a majestic backdrop to the fireworks show, adding an extra layer of enchantment to the already spellbinding display.
While these nighttime spectacular events are undoubtedly a crowd favorite, they can also be a logical nightmare for Disney to put on. Things like weather can play a big part in the safety of these shows, and Disney does not take these risks lightly.
Guest Makes Shocking Discovery
While Disney typically does an incredible job of hiding the evidence of these explosive shows from guests, that was not the case for visitors this week. One guest was shocked to see mortar caps from fireworks on full display within Disneyland Park. They report:
“Saw these mortar caps (?), presumably from fireworks on the roof of Peter Pan around 6pm today.
I was able to grab one when we got to that point in line and can confirm it smelled of explosives. Never experienced that before!”

This shocking sight shows how much goes into putting on these large-scale fireworks shows every night. While this guest did grab one of these casings to take as a souvenir, it is advisable not to do so, as the explosive residue can trigger bomb-sniffing dogs and TSA agents.
