The newest eatery and quick-service restaurant at Walt Disney World’s second park continues its progress with new signage, just unveiled today!
EPCOT’s new Connections Cafe and Eatery is still under construction in the space that once belonged to the Electric Umbrella quick-service venue near the Spaceship Earth attraction at the front of the park close to the entrance.
Zach Riddley with Walt Disney Imagineering took to social media this morning to share the first look at brand-new signage that was created for and installed at the new Connections Cafe and Eatery.
“I’m excited to share a first-look at more progress from EPCOT,” says Riddley via Instagram. “This morning, the first of five new marquees was installed at Connections Café and Eatery! These marquees continue the design language established with our recent Creations Shop marquees, leveraging large-scale typography in our signature EPCOT World Bold font.”
Riddley went on to tease a spring 2022 opening, though he did not give an exact date that Guests will first get to experience the venue.
“Opening to Guests this spring, this new fast-casual restaurant and adjoining café was inspired by the core EPCOT idea of ‘connecting’– by the common bond we share over food and the gathering of people across cultures,” writes Imagineer Zach Riddley described in his post on Instagram. “I’ve had a chance to walk these spaces with our Imagineers bringing the design to life and it’s truly a beautiful addition.”
Connections Cafe is just the latest addition to the World Celebration neighborhood at EPCOT, and only a part of the massive overhaul taking place at EPCOT and first unveiled at the 2019 D23 Expo in Anaheim, California.
Last fall, Disney World opened the new Creations Shop and Club Cool Hosted By Coca-Cola at EPCOT. This summer, Guests at EPCOT will get to experience the park’s newest attraction, Guardians of the Galaxy: COSMIC REWIND.
