Disney Blocks off International Gateway Entrance Area at EPCOT

Something is being built behind a wall of black curtains just inside the International Gateway entrance to EPCOT. Fortunately for fans, Disney cast members have already let slip what it is.

On Thursday, WDWNT reported that large black curtains on metal frames had been installed inside the Port of Entry gift shop at EPCOT, blocking off a section of the store located immediately to the left of the International Gateway entrance.

The International Gateway is the secondary access point to EPCOT, primarily used by guests arriving on foot, by ferryboat, or via Disney Skyliner gondola from nearby Disney Resort hotels, including Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, and more.

The curtained section sits beneath a painting of the Eiffel Tower and a sign reading “France:” — a nod to the pavilion just outside the entrance. Clear plastic material is visible above the curtain line, and the shapes of large rectangular structures can be made out through the fabric. Disney cast members confirmed to WDWNT that the area — which previously housed a checkout counter — is being converted into a new Pandora charm counter.

A Store Within a Store

Port of Entry already has a Pandora charm counter, positioned directly across from the section now hidden behind curtains. Whether the project represents an expansion of the brand’s footprint in the store, a full relocation of the existing counter, or a swap between the jewelry display and the register area to preserve checkout capacity hasn’t been confirmed by Walt Disney World Resort.

No timeline for completing the work has been announced. The Port of Entry shop is continuing to operate normally throughout the project, with remaining registers available for guest transactions.
