Test Track, the popular attraction at Walt Disney World Resort, is officially undergoing a closure and refurbishment. This past weekend, fans paid their respects to the 2.0 version of this ride as it celebrated its last day of service.

This temporary closure is part of Disney’s commitment to refreshing and updating its attractions to keep them exciting and relevant for visitors. Test Track’s closure, which happened on June 17, will be the first step in invigorating this Disney theme park attraction.

Now, fans are mourning more than just the ride itself. In a saddening turn of events, fans stood by and watched as cast members wheeled out beloved offerings related to the attraction.

Cast Member Wheels Away Beloved Attraction

During the closure period, guests can look forward to the unveiling of a reimagined Test Track experience. The refurbishment process will likely involve technological upgrades, new design elements, and even a storyline refresh to captivate riders in a whole new way. This refurbishment aligns with Walt Disney World’s dedication to innovation and creativity, ensuring that guests are always treated to cutting-edge entertainment.

Alighting with these changes, Disney cast members were tasked with removing any imagery that aligned with the old test track. Much to the sadness of fans, cast members were seen discarding the test track trashcans.

If you didn’t know, trash cans at EPCOT hold a significant place in the hearts of Disney fans. For whatever reason, fans love the different themed trash cans, and seeing these get removed was emotional for many fans.

Looking Towards a Bright Future

The closure of Test Track is not an isolated event but rather part of a larger trend within Disney Parks to continually evolve and enhance their attractions. Recent reimagining projects such as the transformation of Splash Mountain into Princess and the Frog-themed Tiana’s Bayou Adventure demonstrate Disney’s commitment to keeping its offerings fresh and appealing to a diverse audience.

While the closure of Test Track may disappoint some visitors in the short term, the anticipation of a revamped attraction can create excitement and buzz among Disney enthusiasts. The temporary inconvenience of the closure is outweighed by the long-term benefits of enjoying an upgraded and reimagined Test Track experience.
