Dollywood’s Final Months of 2026 Include a New Ride, Fall Festival, and Christmas
If you’ve been thinking about visiting Dollywood before the year ends, the next few months may offer the best lineup the park has all season.
From a brand-new attraction to one of the country’s most popular fall festivals and an award-winning Christmas celebration, Dollywood still has plenty planned before it temporarily closes after January 3, 2027.
As July comes to a close, there’s still a full calendar waiting for guests.
A New Attraction Headlines Late Summer
The attraction officially welcomes all guests beginning August 19, while season passholders receive an exclusive preview opportunity between August 15 and August 18.
New attractions always generate excitement, and NightFlight Expedition is expected to draw plenty of attention during its opening weeks. Visitors arriving in late August will also be able to enjoy the final days of Dollywood’s summer offerings before the park begins its seasonal transformation.
For guests who like experiencing attractions during their debut season, August could be one of the best times left to visit in 2026.
Fall Takes Center Stage
Beginning September 14, Dollywood turns its attention to the Harvest Festival.
The event runs through October 31 and celebrates the arrival of autumn with seasonal entertainment, festive foods, live gospel performances, and the return of Great Pumpkin LumiNights, one of Dollywood’s signature nighttime experiences.
The park’s decorations and the colorful backdrop of the Smoky Mountains make this one of the most photographed times of the year.
October also introduces Harvey’s Boo Bash, a brand-new separately ticketed event held on select nights after the park closes. Starting after 9 p.m., the after-hours party expands Dollywood’s Halloween offerings and gives guests another option during the busy fall season.
Holiday Magic Arrives in November
Dollywood won’t stay in fall mode for long.
On November 6, Smoky Mountain Christmas begins, transforming the park into a winter wonderland that remains in place through January 3, 2027.
Millions of lights, festive shows, seasonal treats, and holiday décor have helped make the event one of Dollywood’s most recognizable traditions. It’s also one of the busiest times of the year, with families making annual trips to experience the celebration.
For many guests, the Christmas season has become the highlight of the entire Dollywood calendar.
One Last Chance Before the Offseason
While January may seem far away, the remaining months of Dollywood’s operating calendar are packed with major events.
Guests still have the opportunity to experience a new attraction, one of the park’s largest seasonal festivals, a brand-new Halloween event, and its celebrated Christmas festivities before the park temporarily closes for its annual winter break.
Dollywood’s offseason closure is a normal part of its operating schedule, allowing crews to perform maintenance and prepare for another season. But before that happens, visitors still have several months filled with some of the park’s biggest experiences of the year.
