EPCOT’s International Food and Wine Festival is in full swing, and one of the most unique offerings is causing quite a stir! The Muppets Brew-Wing Lab experience is on everyone’s must-try list. From the Pickle Milkshake to the Unnecessarily Spicy, Yet Extremely Tasty Scotch Bonnet Pepper-Curry Wings, this experimental experience is pushing the limits.
With such an…interesting…menu, the real question on everyone’s mind is, “Is it any good?” To answer that question, Chef Kevin and Cast Member Ravon teamed up for a blind taste test! Ravon closed his eyes and had to try and guess some of the menu items correctly, which was no small feat considering ingredients like cardamom, Scotch Bonnet, peanut butter sauce, and curry…not exactly your go-to wing ingredients.
The pair had a few laughs as Ravon tried the first wing, peanut butter, and jelly. It got two thumbs up from Ravon! Chef Kevin said the flavor is meant to appeal to kids but honestly, it’s a flavor all ages can get behind. Peanut sauce and grape gel coat chicken wings to create a unique and exciting flavor profile.
Ravon also tried the garlic parmesan and traditional wings, which also got high marks. The most interesting wing in the blind taste test was probably the orange cardamom wing. Ravon really enjoyed this one saying that it had a bit of a sweet flavor profile but definitely some spice mixed in.
The Last wing Ravon tried was probably the most hilarious. “OH! Ooooooh! Woah! Ok. This is spicy,” he said through coughs. It was the “Unnecessarily Spicy, Yet Extremely Tasty Scotch Bonnet Pepper-Curry Wing,” and you could see the unnecessary spice on his face. This wing is H-O-T! So what did he think? Did the kick ruin the experience? Not at all. This was his favorite, and it is currently one of the most popular items at this year’s Food and Wine Festival!
Don’t worry. He totally tried the Pickle Milkshake too! His taste test answers the question everyone has had since the menus were announced last month: yes, it really tastes like Pickle. Many refused to believe Disney would commit such and assault on our taste buds and claimed it was just a vanilla milkshake dyed green, sadly, it is not. The dill hits you on the very first sip, and the sour Pickle flavor gets you on the finish. This is a true Pickle Milkshake.
