Disney’s ‘Toy Story’ Ride To Close for Remainder of Year
Disneyland Paris has announced that its popular Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast attraction is undergoing a significant refurbishment, with the closure officially beginning on June 23, 2025. The closure will last until the end of 2025, giving the attraction a comprehensive overhaul that promises several exciting updates for guests.
A Major Overhaul for Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast
The main update, which has garnered excitement from Disney fans, is the complete renovation of the Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast ride. This renovation addresses long-standing complaints about the attraction, including the need for enhancements to the technology and visual appeal of the ride.
Several elements of the ride will receive attention, making for a much-improved guest experience upon its eventual return.
- Facade Revitalization: The exterior of the attraction will be repainted, including its energy-collecting towers and futuristic pillars. The famous Buzz Lightyear statue and marquee will also get a facelift. Neon lighting on the towers and radar dishes will be updated to provide more vibrant and colorful illumination.
- Vehicle and Technology Enhancements: The Astro Blasters, an integral part of the ride, will be replaced with newer versions. Alongside that, the ride vehicles will be repainted and upgraded with new dashboards featuring improved displays for a smoother, more modern experience.
- Lighting and Special Effects: Inside the attraction, a full lighting overhaul will be implemented, replacing outdated spotlights and upgrading special lighting effects. This will also include the replacement of several targets used by guests to score points in the battle against Zurg, providing more precision and reliability.
- Restoration of Audio-Animatronics: To further improve the immersive experience, Disneyland Paris will also restore several Audio-Animatronics figures within the attraction.
Looking Ahead to Reopening
Although Disneyland Paris has not yet revealed a specific reopening date, the company has assured guests that the refurbished Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast will offer a much-enhanced experience. As this major refurbishment will take several months, visitors to the park are advised to plan accordingly and look forward to a new and improved version of the ride by the end of 2025.
