Disney’s new residential community in California will begin selling property in less than a year
Disney Parks released a video today from the groundbreaking ceremony for Cotino, Disney’s first-ever Storyliving by property.
“Today we mark the ground on which Cotino will be built,” a Disney representative said during the ceremony. “Much like the benchmark coins of our country’s national parks, this commemorative medallion is stamped with the coordinates of Cotino, a one-of-a-kind for all who wish to find us.”
“To new beginnings in Cotino!” the host says as the commemorative geological survey benchmark was placed onto the sand of the desert.

Executives and officials shared remarks about the new before unveiling a storybook sand sculpture to mark the occasion. It was the spirit of renewal and rejuvenation that led Walt and to establish a retreat in . So fittingly, the brilliant mountain-ringed valley will be the first site for a Storyliving by .
In preparation for the ceremony, a beautiful sand sculpture was created in the shape of a storybook with the words “Your next chapter in a brilliant new setting” carved into the sand.
Disney’s new master-planned , Cotino, is only the first of the innovative plan which features homes, , and . There will even be a beached swimming area and hotel.

Though the area is beautiful, the views are scenic, and the heart is Disney, many in the local are opposed to the new project. Still others have used the Storyliving by announcements to poke fun at so-called “Disney adults.”
In the video from Disney, President of Thomas Mazloum announced that the sale of properties at Cotino is expected to begin in early 2023, with the first of Cotino expected to begin making the Cotino their homes in early 2024.
