When you think of Walt Disney World, certain things may come to mind — great theme parks, incredible food, extensive shopping, crowds, characters, and more. What you may not think of immediately is world-class golf courses. Of course, you think of that if you are an avid golfer and, in fact, some people travel to Walt Disney World Resort for the specific purpose of playing on the gorgeous courses. Walt Disney World has four 18-hole championship golf courses — the Palm Course, the Oak Course, the Lake Buena Vista Course, and the Magnolia Course.

In 2015, the Magnolia Course underwent extensive refurbishment. During that time, Disney renovated all the bunkers, did a lot of tree work, and redid all the cart paths. However, Disney has just announced that the course will be closing once again for what they are calling “a major renovation project.”. Disney shared the following note on its GolfWDW website:
PLEASE NOTE!…During the dates of April 28, 2022 – May 8, 2022 only holes #1 – #9 will be available for play, and beginning on May 9, 2022 Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course will be closed indefinitely for a major renovation project. We recommend that you play at either Disney’s Palm or Disney’s Lake Buena Vista Golf Course during this timeframe as we prepare Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course for your future enjoyment! We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of this golf course, and look forward to welcoming you back to the newly re-imagined Disney’s Magnolia Golf Course later this year.

While the Magnolia Course will be closed for the foreseeable future, the Palm, Lake Buena Vista, and Oak courses will remain open for daily use. The Palm and Oak Tail courses are located near Disney’s Polynesian Village and Grand Floridian Resorts. The Lake Buena Vista Course is located in the Disney Springs/Saratoga Springs Resort area.
