Disney Cast Members Push Guests Out of Space Mountain Ride
Guests riding Disneyland Park’s Space Mountain received a surprise they won’t soon forget after a technical issue brought the popular attraction to an abrupt stop. In a rare move, Disney cast members were seen physically pushing ride vehicles—still loaded with guests—along the track to complete the ride.
The unexpected moment happened earlier this month, when the Tomorrowland coaster experienced a breakdown mid-ride. Instead of performing a standard evacuation, Disneyland Resort cast members climbed onto the track and began manually guiding rockets through the rest of the Tomorrowland roller coaster. Guests onboard witnessed the usually pitch-black attraction fully illuminated, offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse of one of Disney’s most iconic coasters.
TikTok user @therealtoriallen documented the experience by posting a video showing what happened after the ride stopped. Several rockets were at a standstill on the track, and Disney cast members were filmed helping them continue on their way to the unloading station.

Despite the dramatic nature of the breakdown, all guests safely exited the ride.
Disneyland Resort did not issue an official comment about the Space Mountain stoppage, though that’s common for minor attraction malfunctions. The Tomorrowland roller coaster was operating normally again not long after the incident.
Space Mountain
Space Mountain has been a fan-favorite roller coaster since it opened at Disneyland Park on May 27, 1977. The attraction first debuted at Walt Disney World Resort in 1975 and later inspired international versions in Tokyo, Paris, and Hong Kong. Disneyland Paris Resort and Hong Kong Disneyland have reimagined their rides as the Star Wars-themed Hyperspace Mountain, while Tokyo Disney Resort is currently rebuilding its version. Disneyland Park and Magic Kingdom Park’s Space Mountain attractions remain close to their original designs, occasionally offering temporary overlays tied to holidays or Star Wars.
