Disneyland Changes How Bus Transportation Serves Families Every Day

A new shuttle routine is now in effect for visitors who stay off-property and ride to Disneyland Resort. As of Monday, November 2, Good Neighbor and third-party hotel shuttle buses use a different stop, and the old one has been retired.

Before this week, guests staying at off-property hotels were dropped off and picked up at the South Harbor Boulevard entrance near the Esplanade. Sunday, November 1, was the last day anyone could board or exit a bus at that location.

Starting November 2, those shuttles load and unload on the west side of Downtown Drive, near the Disneyland Hotel valet loop. The stop sits close to the Lululemon store in the Downtown Disney District. Rideshares and shuttles from the Toy Story Parking Area already used it, so it now serves several types of transportation at once.

Maps Already Reflect the Switch

Disneyland Resort moved quickly to update its official digital map. X (formerly known as Twitter) user @ThemeParkIQ pointed out the revision, sharing before-and-after images:

Disneyland updated their maps today to reflect the new transportation changes. Here are the before and after images of each map change.

Why It’s Happening

The move follows months of construction on the eastern side of the Esplanade between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. Disney earlier demolished several ticket booths there to build a pedestrian bridge. That bridge will connect to a new parking structure and transportation hub, which are now under construction.

When finished, the garage will include roughly 6,000 parking spaces, more than 300 electric vehicle charging stations, a dedicated zone for rideshares and shuttles, and a security office. It is part of the DisneylandForward expansion and is intended to handle the additional traffic expected as new projects open, including the new attractions in Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure Park and the updated Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park.

Guests who rely on hotel shuttles should confirm the new pickup point with their hotel or shuttle operator. The walk to the parks now begins in Downtown Disney rather than at the Esplanade, so leaving a little extra time to navigate the change will keep your vacation running smoothly.
