COVID Times Again? Disney Resort Runs Out of Staple Item
It may seem like another lifetime, but just over four years ago, the world was forced to shut down due to the deadly COVID-19 pandemic. We were told to stay indoors, only go out if absolutely necessary, and wear a mask when we did go out.
Antibacterial soaps, hand sanitizers, and bleach-based cleaners became our best friends. Millions of people were forced to get up early in the morning to go shopping for things like toilet paper and paper towels.

Paper goods and cleaning products were hard to come by, but so were unexpected items like eggs. At the beginning of the pandemic, thousands of people shared on social media that none of the grocery stores around them had eggs. Eggs were almost as hard to come by as Lysol wipes.
Thankfully, the worst of COVID is behind us and things are pretty much back to normal. However, one recent event at Disneyland had guests wondering if the COVID-19-age egg shortage was once again rearing its ugly head.
Reddit user porky_corgi took to the social media platform to share that his family recently dined at the Minnie and Friends character breakfast. The breakfast is at the popular Plaza Inn, located at the end of Main Street, U.S.A., in Disneyland Park. OP (Original Poster) said that when they checked in, a Disney cast member informed him that they were out of eggs.
But it wasn’t just the Plaza Inn that was out of eggs, it was the entire Disneyland Resort!
Our family had plans for the Minnie & Friends character breakfast at the Plaza Inn today and upon check-in they told us there were no eggs- so no scrambled eggs, omelettes, French toast, nothing. They said there weren’t any eggs in the entire park either. Anyone else encounter this today? Was curious if they were truthful about no eggs in the ENTIRE park or just at the character breakfasts.

A lot of commenters were shocked to hear that a place like Disneyland Resort would run out of eggs. They asked if the Redditor and his family were charged full price for the meal. Shockingly, while the cast member did allow them to cancel their reservation if they wanted, they were still charged full price for the meal, even though multiple items were unavailable.
Unfortunately, the OP said that the breakfast was disappointing overall. They said that the food was not up to par with what they expected, and instead of an omelet bar, there was a pasta bar. They said that the meal was not worth the $50 per adult and $30 per child that they were charged.
Some commenters did take a more humorous and Disney-themed approach. There is one Disney character who has a total obsession with eggs and eats them every day. Did you figure out who it is? Gaston from Beauty and the Beast (1991), of course! I mean, he eats five dozen eggs every single day!
California recently experienced a severe outbreak of bird flu, which led to a massive egg shortage and skyrocketing prices for the eggs that were available. Thankfully, eggs are now back in stock, and guests visiting Disneyland Resort can now get some of their favorite menu items, like French toast and Ronto Wraps.
