Disneyland Resort has only been open for about 7 months after a historic 412-day closure due to the pandemic, and the crowds have wasted no time heading back to the Happiest Place on Earth. When the Parks reopened, no Annual Passes were being sold, so all Guests were required to purchase regular tickets. Shortly after reopening, Disney offered a specially-priced 3-day ticket that was only for Southern California Residents.
The 3-day tickets allowed Southern California Guests to save some serious money as they visited either Disneyland, California Adventure, or even both. Park Hopper 3-day tickets cost about only $84 per day, as opposed to almost $200 for regular-priced tickets. The 3-day Southern California ticket was extremely popular and Guests bought them up. Shortly after those tickets were offered, Disney also announced that new Magic Key annual passes would also be going on sale.
Magic Keys were even more popular than the 3-day ticket, and thousands of Guests bombarded the Disneyland Resort website the day they went on sale. Magic Keys have been so popular that Disney actually had to stop selling the two top-tier passes because there are so many Magic Key Holders and many were struggling to book reservations. With two of its four Magic Keys no longer on sale, Disney has brought back its 3-day Southern California Resident Pass, but with one big caveat — the 3-day ticket will only be valid on weekdays.
Disney Parks Blog shared more information on the passes:
Great news, Southern California residents! To ring in the New Year with many jubilant celebrations coming in 2022, the Disneyland Resort is introducing a special ticket offer just for you! Eligible guests may experience the magic of Disneyland park or Disney California Adventure park for as little as $67 per day for a limited time with the purchase of a three-day, one-park per day weekday ticket, subject to park reservations. These tickets are on sale now for visits beginning Jan. 3 through May 26, 2022, and are valid on weekdays.*
Late-winter and early spring are a great time to visit Disneyland Resort, and there are a number of exciting events that are scheduled, including the popular DCA Food and Wine Festival and Disney’s Lunar New Year Celebration. Nighttime shows World of Color and Mickey’s Mix Magic — and later Disneyland Forever fireworks — will also be making their theme park return.
