There’s a Hole in This Disney Park Snack – Here’s Why

A Disneyland Resort guest recently sparked controversy for complaining about air holes in their beignets. But not everyone knows that these fried delicacies are actually known for their weightlessness!

Beignets originated in France but are considered a New Orleans delicacy in the United States. They’ve become a favorite snack for Disneyland Park visitors at Mint Julep Bar Snacks and Tiana’s Palace in New Orleans Square. Seasonal offerings like pumpkin spice and strawberry cream delight guests alongside the classic Mickey Mouse-shaped, powdered sugar-coated beignets. Classic Creole rectangular beignets are available at third-party locations in the Downtown Disney District, including Jazz Kitchen Coastal Grill & Patio and Beignets Expressed.

When a Disney Park guest on Reddit recently complained that their beignets were “hollow,” Disney Parks fans were quick to correct them.

“I’m from New Orleans,” u/dr_henry_jones commented. “This is how they’re supposed to be. A good beignet is mostly hollow…A beignet that isn’t hollow is just pretty much a donut.”

Which makes them perfect for the dipping sauces you can get at Beignet Xpress!” u/renedotmac replied.

Still, some Disney Parks fans felt Disneyland Resort‘s beignets were too airy.

I know they’re supposed to be somewhat hollow and airy, but this is crazy,” said u/F0ur20Memez

When I’ve had the Mickey ones they have been hollow too,” u/BoobySlap_0506 agreed. “Jazz Kitchen is the place to go for beignets!”

Beignets have also made their way to Walt Disney World Resort. Classic beignets are available at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter, at Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie in EPCOT’s France World Showcase Pavilion, and at Golden Oak Outpost near Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Frontierland at Magic Kingdom Park. Port Orleans is almost always the best place to find seasonal flavors of these airy fried treats!
