Disney & Universal Join Forces: $2 Bus Ride Now Connects Disney Springs to Epic Universe

Here's What This Means for Your Vacation Plans

Imagine this: You’re standing at Disney Springs at Disney World, fresh off a Dole Whip and some serious merch splurging.

But now, you’re itching to hop over to the all-new Universal Epic Universe to check out SUPER NINTENDO WORLD or the brand-new Wizarding World land.

The only thing stopping you? The cost of a rideshare—or worse, the time it takes juggling multiple transfers. That is, until now.

More Than Just a Bus Route: A New Era of Budget-Friendly Park Hopping Option for Disney, Universal Guests

Thanks to LYNX, Central Florida’s public transportation system, the days of expensive commutes between Orlando’s two biggest theme park titans are officially over.

On April 20th, LYNX quietly launched a brand-new bus route that directly connects Walt Disney World and Universal’s Epic Universe—and it’s only $2 per ride.

Yes, you read that right. Just $2.

So, what does this mean for tourists, families, and even locals who want to double-dip into Disney and Universal this summer? Let’s dig in.

Not Just Another Means of Transportation

This isn’t just another bus route; it’s a logistical dream come true for theme park lovers. The new service connects Disney Springs, Epic Universe, and the Orlando International Airport (MCO) with consistent service from 5:15 a.m. to 10:25 p.m., with buses running every 30–35 minutes.

If you’re staying at Walt Disney World and want to check out Epic Universe for a day, you can now do it without renting a car, calling a Lyft, or spending upwards of $25 one-way.

Better yet, the route includes a stop at the Destination Parkway Superstop, and in select timeframes, the Helios Grand Hotel at Epic Universe—ideal for guests staying at Universal’s new flagship resort.

Why It Matters: The Bigger Picture for Theme Park Tourism

And the cherry on top? If you’re a planner, you can grab an all-day pass for $4.50 or a 7-day unlimited pass for just $16. Compared to what most guests spend on parking or rideshare apps in a single day, that’s a downright steal.

The deeper story here isn’t just about convenience—it’s about accessibility.

For years, the biggest hurdle for Orlando tourists looking to experience both Disney and Universal in the same trip has been transportation costs. Many guests, especially international or first-time visitors, had to choose one over the other due to logistical challenges.

The Caveats: What You Should Know Before You Ride

This new LYNX route could quietly usher in a new golden era of multi-park vacations—opening the door to affordable park-hopping like never before. It also sends a message to the tourism industry that public transit has a bigger role to play in guest experience than it’s been given credit for.

While LYNX has long been the unsung hero for budget-conscious travelers, this move boldly places the system in the spotlight—and could even encourage other cities with major tourist hubs to follow suit.

While this is easily the cheapest way to get from Walt Disney World to Epic Universe, there are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Time Sensitivity: Buses are consistent but may still take up to 30 minutes depending on the time of day and stop frequency.

  • Crowd Levels: As the word spreads, expect the service to become increasingly popular—especially during summer and holiday peaks.

  • Luggage Space: If you’re planning to take this from the airport with large bags, know that these are public buses, not shuttles with luggage racks.

And while we haven’t yet personally tested the route, its affordability and practicality speak for themselves.

Disney and Universal: A Summer of Seamless Travel Awaits

With the summer vacation season heating up, this new bus route could become the ultimate hack for travelers wanting to explore both Disney and Universal without draining their wallets.

After all, when a day of roller coasters, Butterbeer, fireworks, and magic is just a $2 ride away—why settle for one park when you can do both?

Now the only question is: Will you take the ride?

Since first stepping inside the Magic Kingdom at nine years old, I knew I was destined to be a theme Park enthusiast. Although I consider myself a theme Park junkie, I still have much to learn and discover about Disney. Universal Orlando Resort has my heart; being an Annual Passholder means visiting my favorite places on Earth when possible! When I’m not writing about Disney, Universal, or entertainment news, you’ll find me cruising on my motorcycle, hiking throughout my local metro parks, or spending quality time with my girlfriend, family, or friends.
