Animal Kingdom Steps Into a New Era

The momentum starts on November 7 at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. That’s when Zootopia: Better Together officially opens inside the Tree of Life Theater. The venue, once home to It’s Tough to Be a Bug, has been completely reimagined to bring Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, and their world to life.

Guests will experience stunning projections, vibrant sets, and playful storytelling designed to immerse them in the bustling city of Zootopia. It’s lighthearted, funny, and family-friendly—precisely the kind of addition that breathes new energy into the park.

But the opening isn’t just a single update. It’s a glimpse at where Animal Kingdom is heading as DinoLand, U.S.A. is retired to make room for the upcoming Tropical Americas expansion.

Holiday Cheer at Magic Kingdom

On that same day, Magic Kingdom transforms into a holiday wonderland as Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party returns. Main Street, U.S.A., fills with twinkling lights, holiday wreaths, and the scent of gingerbread. Snow flurries drift through the air as Cinderella Castle becomes the sparkling centerpiece of the season.

This fan-favorite after-hours event offers shorter wait times, festive entertainment, seasonal treats, and exclusive character meet-and-greets. The iconic Once Upon a Christmastime Parade and nighttime fireworks add an extra layer of magic. For many fans, this event marks the actual start of the holidays at Disney World.

Hollywood Studios Brings the Glamour

Just a day later, Disney Jollywood Nights kicks off on November 8 at Hollywood Studios. This event has quickly built its own loyal following thanks to its retro-Hollywood style and sophisticated holiday atmosphere.

Vintage décor, glowing lights, live music, and themed entertainment set the tone. Sunset and Hollywood Boulevards shimmer with gold and red, creating a glamorous holiday backdrop. Jollywood Nights stands apart from Magic Kingdom’s festivities by offering a more elegant, grown-up experience, making it a hit for couples and groups looking for something special.

Thanksgiving Crowds Arrive

The holiday celebrations build toward Thanksgiving Day on November 27. It’s one of the busiest times at Disney World. Families travel from across the country to celebrate in the parks. Walkways become crowded, and demand for tickets and Lightning Lane passes skyrockets.

Wait times climb quickly during this stretch. Careful planning becomes essential for a smooth visit. The upside is the weather. Cooler temperatures create pleasant park days. Guests can soak up the festive atmosphere before the December rush begins.

EPCOT Ends the Month with a Festival

Finally, EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays begins on November 28 at EPCOT. World Showcase transforms into a celebration of global holiday traditions, featuring storytellers, live performances, and food booths serving festive favorites.

Guests can enjoy holiday music, meet Santa, and take in the Candlelight Processional—one of the most cherished events of the season. At night, the park glows with warm lights and the scent of holiday treats fills the air, creating a cozy, enchanting atmosphere.
