Disney World to Hold Strict Standards for Its Newest Princess

Ariel, Cinderella, Jasmine, Elsa, Anna, Tiana, and many more are popular Disney princesses that guests have fallen in love with over the years.

Disney World is finally bringing back the beloved Little Mermaid show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, but with a twist:The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure, set to replace the beloved Voyage of The Little Mermaid. This show was shut down during the pandemic and has not reopened since. Many guests were worried that The Little Mermaid show would be no more, but Disney made the major announcement a couple of months ago and, now, we have new updates to share.

With the announcement of the new Little Mermaid show coming, Disney is now searching for the next Ariel and Prince Eric. While it may seem easy to find someone who could play these characters, Disney goes to extensive auditions to find the perfect princess and prince.

When Disney is looking for Disney’s Little Mermaid Ariel, fans looking to apply for this role should know a few things before applying. The “perfect” Ariel is set to be between 5’2″ and 5’6″; Ariel should have a spirited and fun-loving demeanor. Besides looking the part, performers should possess a lyrical pop soprano voice with a belt to C.

Disney fans hoping to play the role of Prince Eric have less strict rules about voice; however, Disney is looking for someone between 5’10” and 6’0″ with charisma and fearlessness. While singing isn’t required for Prince Eric, a strong stage presence and acting ability are essential.

If you believe you would make the perfect Ariel or Prince Eric, you should visit the Disney Auditions website. When on the website, create or update your Disney Performer Profile. Upload your audition video showcasing your acting and singing abilities for the desired role.

After fans submit their audition materials, an easy check-in process will help Disney with their selection. First Then select the audition titled “Online Submissions: and select vocalists and actors for The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure.” To finish the check-in process, take a selfie.

While hundreds– perhaps even thousands– may apply to be the next Ariel or Prince Eric, a few important details when applying is that online submissions are open until February 19, 2024, at 11:30 p.m. EST. Guests receiving a potential callback will be held in Orlando, Florida, New York, New York, and Atlanta, Georgia. Candidates will be notified by March 14 if selected for a callback. When applying, you must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States. If in the Disney College Program, Cast Members may apply if they are within eight weeks of the end of their program.
