Disney World Just Ruined the Best Parade Spot in All of Magic Kingdom
It’s official—one of the best places to watch a parade at Magic Kingdom is no longer an option.
For years, Frontierland was the low-key gem that diehard Disney fans swore by during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and even for Festival of Fantasy. But now? It’s gone. And yes, we’re feeling dramatic about it, because it really was that good.

Frontierland offered the perfect blend of ambiance and breathing room. You could snag a parade spot without staking it out three hours in advance, and the backdrop—complete with Haunted Mansion peeking out in the distance—added a layer of eerie magic that Main Street U.S.A. just couldn’t match. It was a vibe, and one that’s now surrounded by construction walls.
As of July 7, Disney has officially shut down the entire stretch along the Rivers of America. That includes Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Belle riverboat, all in preparation for the new Cars-inspired Piston Peak area and the highly anticipated Villains Land. Both sound cool, sure. But let’s be real: those lands are still years away. Right now, all we have is a maze of walls and blocked-off paths.

So what does this mean for the 2025 Boo-To-You Parade? It means you’ll be shoulder-to-shoulder with the rest of the crowd on Main Street and in the hub. It means longer waits for a decent viewing spot and less room to breathe when you’re already in a costume, holding a trick-or-treat bag, and managing a sugar rush.
Don’t get us wrong—there’s still a lot to love about the Halloween party. The Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular, the Not-So-Spooky fireworks, and all those exclusive treats are still happening. But there’s no denying that losing Frontierland as a viewing area changes the experience. And for many longtime fans, it feels like the end of an era.
So here’s your warning: plan ahead. Be strategic. And maybe pour one out for the best parade spot Magic Kingdom ever had.
