Disney Security Leaves Guests High and Dry After Hotel Room Invasion

A magical vacation turned into a stressful ordeal for one guest when an intoxicated stranger allegedly attempted to break into their hotel room at Disney’s Pop Century Resort. The incident has raised questions about security and management responsiveness at Walt Disney World Resort, leaving some to wonder whether the “Disney difference” extends to hotel guest safety during emergencies.

Disney’s Pop Century Resort is a popular Value Resort known for its retro charm and Skyliner access to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Unfortunately, it was also the setting for the most harrowing part of one Walt Disney World Resort guest’s vacation. According to Reddit user u/jrtasoli, their stay was disrupted by an inebriated individual attempting to enter their room, prompting the guest to call for help–but help never came.

“Once had a drunk lady try and break into my hotel room at Pop,” the guest wrote. “Called for security. Nobody ever came.”

The lack of response left the guest feeling vulnerable and unsupported, with no immediate resolution from the Disney Resort’s security team.

The frustration didn’t end there. When the guest tried to follow up the next day, they encountered further challenges in getting their concerns addressed by Disney management.

“Next day I tried to talk to the manager but they blew me off (possibly because of my age, I was in my early 20s then),” the guest continued. “Eventually I called and emailed and got a refund + future stay. Took a lot of persistence to break through the runaround.”
