Extended Hours: Enhance Your Thanksgiving at Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World Resort is making this Thanksgiving week (November 24–30, 2024) even more magical by extending park hours across its iconic destinations. These adjustments allow visitors to experience more of the magic, from thrilling rides to unforgettable nighttime entertainment, making the holiday season truly special.

Magic Kingdom: Earlier Openings, More Magic

Magic Kingdom will open as early as 7:30 AM for eligible guests, providing extra time to enjoy popular attractions like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Peter Pan’s Flight before the crowds build. During peak days, such as Thanksgiving, the park will remain open until 11:00 PM, giving guests two additional hours of nighttime enchantment.

The extended hours also mean more opportunities to experience iconic entertainment, including the Happily Ever After fireworks display. This nightly spectacle is the perfect way to cap off a day filled with Disney magic.

From November 24 to 26, Disney’s Animal Kingdom will stay open until 7:00 PM, giving guests an extra hour to explore its wonders. As dusk falls, the park transforms, offering unique experiences like the glowing bioluminescent pathways in Pandora – The World of Avatar and the captivating Tree of Life Awakenings projection show.

This extension offers a rare chance to see the park in a new light—literally—making it an unmissable part of your Thanksgiving itinerary.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Early Starts for Big Adventures

Disney’s Hollywood Studios will open at 8:00 AM for Early Entry on select days, providing additional time to explore fan-favorite attractions such as Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land. The earlier opening allows families to jumpstart their day with shorter wait times and more time to soak in the action-packed atmosphere.

About Emmanuel Detres

Since first stepping inside the Magic Kingdom at nine years old, I knew I was destined to be a theme Park enthusiast. Although I consider myself a theme Park junkie, I still have much to learn and discover about Disney. Universal Orlando Resort has my heart; being an Annual Passholder means visiting my favorite places on Earth when possible! When I’m not writing about Disney, Universal, or entertainment news, you’ll find me cruising on my motorcycle, hiking throughout my local metro parks, or spending quality time with my girlfriend, family, or friends.
