After years of speculation and guest demand, the beloved Free Dining Plan is officially making its return. Guests who book a non-discounted 4-night, 4-day (or longer) package that includes a Disney Resort hotel stay and Park Hopper tickets will be eligible for a free dining plan. This offer is available for select stays from June 29 through December 22, 2025, allowing families to enjoy delicious meals at Disney restaurants without worrying about additional costs.

For guests looking to stay on property, resort room discounts of up to 30% off will be available for bookings between August 1 and October 11, 2025. Additionally, Florida Residents and Annual Passholders will receive special room offers, making an extended Disney stay more affordable than before.

What’s the Bigger Story Here?

While Disney is no stranger to offering discounts, this summer’s promotions suggest a strategic shift. For the past few years, Disney has leaned heavily into premium experiences, often prioritizing high-spending adult visitors with after-hours events, VIP tours, and pricey limited-time offerings. But these new deals indicate a potential pivot back toward family-friendly pricing.

Could this be Disney’s way of responding to criticisms about rising costs? Or is it an effort to boost attendance following reports of fluctuating guest numbers? Whatever the case, these discounts are a clear win for families who have long felt priced out of the magic.

It looks like Disney is making moves to reconnect with families, bringing back affordability in ways we haven’t seen in years. Since first stepping inside the Magic Kingdom at nine years old, I knew I was destined to be a theme Park enthusiast. Although I consider myself a theme Park junkie, I still have much to learn and discover about Disney. Universal Orlando Resort has my heart; being an Annual Passholder means visiting my favorite places on Earth when possible! When I’m not writing about Disney, Universal, or entertainment news, you’ll find me cruising on my motorcycle, hiking throughout my local metro parks, or spending quality time with my girlfriend, family, or friends.

  1. I am thrilled to hear this news. My first trip to Disney was in 1997 and I was a young adult and it was a dream trip for me at the time. I was hooked from then on. I have gone every year sometimes twice a year since. I had to skip three separate years for certain reasons(Covid, pregnancy,etc.). I have raised my son bringing him to Disney from the time he was a baby all the way through his Senior year. I have seen the ups and downs and price changes with Disney, but since Covid such drastic changes in pricing and fairness of who gets to stay in the park for later hours is not right. I have always stayed on Disney property every time I have went and it always worked fine with anyone staying on Disney property getting to stay late in the parks. Now it has been only if you stay in the more expensive resorts. It makes you feel as if you don’t contribute enough of their support. I didn’t like that feeling at all because even though I stay at the value resorts since I am never there except to sleep, I contribute by spending thousands on merchandise each year when I go.

I am also glad to hear the free dining is coming back stronger too. Although we were lucky to get the free dining package in 2024, there was a time after Covid that had went away and I was starting to wonder if I was going to make many more trips to Disney. I love that plan because it makes you feel like there is a reason to book at that time frame because you are getting a deal. It also makes the trip more simple being you already have your meals added to your package.

One last thing I wish would change is that the Magical Express would come back eventually. Even if you have to pay a little for the service just having the bus gear more towards your Disney stay. On the bus ride to the hotel, the bus used to play a few informational videos all about your Disney stay. It was as if once you hit the airport and got on the bus you were in the mode of Disney and the bus ride gets you excited for your vacation. It sort of changed once it changed to Mears. I am thankful they at least have a bus service to get you to the resorts though.

Anyway I usually do not post comments but had to for this one because Disney means so much to me and I was starting to get a little disgusted with some of the changes. I know the world always changes but these changes were not geared at all in thinking about families. Thank you Disney. I knew someone would wake up eventually.
