With all the buzz happening at Disney World, accidents happen, and unexpected evacuations happen from time to time. The latest unexpected evacuation happened in EPCOT.

Several guests at Walt Disney World Resort found themselves unexpectedly evacuated from The Seas pavilion at EPCOT last Saturday due to an undisclosed emergency prompting the closure of the building, according to reports. Additionally, numerous visitors were temporarily denied entry as staff members worked to clear the area.

The Seas pavilion is located in the World Nature neighborhood and is known for its impressive array of marine life, including dolphins, manatees, sea turtles, and more.

The Seas pavilion allows guests to explore several different attractions like The Seas With Nemo and Friends and Turtle Talk with Crush, with the option to dine beneath the aquarium’s mesmerizing glow at the Coral Reef Restaurant.

While guests were unsure of what happened and why they were forced to be evacuated, they were reportedly able to return inside The Seas pavilion shortly after. However, then two of EPCOT’s newer attractions allegedly went down: Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.

One Reddit Thread comment states that it may have been a fire alarm but was silent not to alarm guests:

“There are silent fire alarms in each building at disney world. When it goes off CMs will evacuate the entire building and call reedy creek fire department to check it out. Sometimes it’s a false alarm.”

When an unexpected evacuation disrupted the usual flow of guests at EPCOT, Cast Members were there to act swiftly to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone present. Evacuation procedures were reportedly put into action, guiding guests to designated assembly points while cast members worked tirelessly to maintain order and offer assistance.

As the evacuation unfolded, guests experienced a range of emotions, from curiosity to concern to resilience. Please note that if you ever experience an evacuation while visiting Walt Disney World, please listen to the Cast Members with patience and understanding.

Disney World works hard to keep attractions, lands, and much more up and running and safe for guests and Cast Members as they enjoy the Disney magic in the parks.
